About the Atari 2600 version of Commando.

Recommended Posts

Commando was a game made by Capcom, so how in the world did Activision make a Atari 2600 version. I seen the screen shots of the 2600 version and it looks like Capcom's Arcade game. Is this a port? And if so, how many other ports of other games did Activision made?

Also take a look at the Atari 2600 version of Commando and the Intellivision of the same game. Even though the Intellivision is suppose to be a system with better graphics, I think that the Atari 2600 version has better graphics then the Intellivision version.

Atari 2600 Version:

Here you can see that the characters have more detail in them.

Intellivision Version:

Right here you see that the characters don't have any detail and the landscape is messed up and blurry looking.

Activision ported Rampage, Double Dragon, and Kung Fu Master also to the 2600. Dragster is supposed to be a port, but it didn't use the same name as the arcade game.
