Armonigann #1 Posted November 2, 2010 Last night Im on craigslist checkin' out the usual Atari listings, when I see a post for some Atari 2600 games. I called the guy and he shot me a list of what he had. 3 of them stood out as I needed 'em for my collection. Mountain King, Fast Food, and of course Bump 'n Jump. I said to guy " give ya 10 bucks for those 3". He agrees and I get on my way to pick them up. When I get there he hands me the games which are cart only but are in pristine condition and all 3 have manuals. Brfore this looks like a finds thread let me get back on topic. I get home to play the games and bump 'n jump was the last to test. Remind you that Mountain king and Fast food are some really good games, but when I played bump 'n jump the test session lasted about an hour on it. What a wonderful port! I actually prefer it over the NES version which is in my top 20 all time. M-Network sure got this one right..
littleman jack #2 Posted November 3, 2010 I agree, that's a great game, 2600 Bump n Jump. The 2600 version moves more smoothly than the NES version. And the options to continue and toggle the music on or off are also quite nice.
Fixitguy74 #3 Posted November 3, 2010 I've never played it in an arcade or on any other system so I don't know how it compares, but I realy like the game. It has good replayability.
yuppicide #4 Posted November 3, 2010 I like it too. I like that a lot of 2600 games have an option to turn things off when some NES games didn't.
StanJr #5 Posted November 3, 2010 Great VCS port of a game that is kind of a surprise from M-Network. Love Bump n' Jump and play it all the time. Up n' Down is similar in success of execution

AtariLeaf #8 Posted November 3, 2010 (edited) Its also one of my favorites. Best port of the ones I own - 2600, NES, Intellivision, Coco - and proves that graphics aren't everything. The 2600 Bump and Jump is the least visually appealing of the ones I mentioned but it has the best control and I have the most fun with this version. EDIT - I'd probably put Colecovisions version higher than the 2600 as it has better graphics, sound, and with a standard joystick, the control is just as good. Miss 2600 #9 Posted November 3, 2010 Great VCS port of a game that is kind of a surprise from M-Network. Love Bump n' Jump and play it all the time. Up n' Down is similar in success of execution Im on the hunt right now for up n down. Up 'N Down has a continuous tune but is not as cute as Bump 'N Jump's (actually it can grate on the nerves). Also, the graphics are terrible. Still, though I haven't played it much, I've heard it is a really fun game.
iwan-iwanowitsch-goratschin #10 Posted November 3, 2010 I have to agree that Bump n´jump is a very well done game!
Rex Dart #11 Posted November 3, 2010 It IS a hell of a port. I'd only played the NES version, and briefly, but I got this cart in a mystery lot and I was surprised too. It plays great and the graphics are extremely crisp for not being one of Activision's.
