Madaracs #1 Posted November 7, 2010 I have several controllers from Yurkie and I absolutely love them. I went to Axman today looking for a key switch and didn't find any. I did however find a bunch of red momentary switches that are about the size of those found on an Atari CX-40. I had bought one for a different project I was working on--but I decided to buy a few of these to see if I could successfully add a second primary fire button to a Yurkie modified controller. When playing Atarisoft games like Defender, it's nice to have the top button for more control, but I prefer to have the Coleco controller fully functional because I lean toward using the side buttons most of the time anyway. The result is this:
SlowCoder #2 Posted November 8, 2010 That appears pretty nifty! How comfortable is it?
Madaracs #3 Posted November 8, 2010 (edited) That appears pretty nifty! How comfortable is it? It's really nice, actually. Makes repeated button mashing very easy on Defender. I'm gonna try Nova Blast next. Center mount also makes the mod ambidextrous. Edited November 8, 2010 by Madaracs
Yurkie #4 Posted November 8, 2010 Looks pretty good. About a year ago I modified a standard controller built a couple circuits and added 4 face mounted buttons so that it could be used as a SAC. I played around with using 2 buttons also. While I kinda liked them, it took too much away from the original game play feel. +5-11under #5 Posted November 8, 2010 Good job again, Madaracs! Very cool, because I don't really like the side buttons.

I think I need a Turbo underlay for when I use the EM2. Though you really don't his any of the buttons... So it would be useless.

A Turbo image overlay inserted in the controller while not needed would look nice.
