Sega Arcade Stick on 2600?

Hmmm. I must be losing my mind.

 

Tinkering around with Arcade Stick for Genesis, today, on Atari.

 

At first I could've sworn it was pretty much working ... more or less. But when I tried it again later, after cleaning the inside button contacts/etc and making it work optimally with Genesis, autofire button was on and wouldn't go off and ... hell, I don't think I could fire. The stick was acting all crazy.

 

Do Sega controllers and stick work on the 2600 or not?

 

I saw that Best Electronics sold a Sega adapter. What's that for if Sega controllers are supposed to work.

 

So confused right now.

The Sega controllers work for most, but not all games. Also, the turbo and slo-motion features don't work.

Make sure you have them turned off when trying to play a VCS game.

I regularly use a sega 3-button arcade stick with my 7800, so I imagine it works the same with your 2600. Turbo fire is automatically enabled when you plug the stick in & power the system on... just disable the turbo for each button and you're ready to play.
