Atari collection for the DS

Man.. I thought it was going to be a BLAST playing atari 2600 asteroids on my DS. I imagined full color, bright, vibrant asteroids, but what I got was very DIM, faint asteroids. Had me looking for a "brightness" knob on the DS, which there isn't one.

Also, what kind of DS are you using? The original has a pretty weak backlight (that's the one I have). My friend has a DS Lite, and it has a much brighter screen.

As far as I can tell, the original nintendo DS (the one I have), has only two brightness settings: on and off. That's all that happens when I press the little "brightness" icon on the bottom left, the light goes on or off; it doesn't get any brighter.

That's normal. Later models had more options when it came to screen brightness.

right off the shelf at gamestop. A great collection, got some of my favorite games on it, even the cheezy "outer space" which I LOVE!!!!! I like this even better than the Intellivision collection.

Thanks to everyone who suggested the DS Lite with the brighter screen. I actually bought an DS XL with some money given to me for my birthday, and IT'S LIKE NIGHT AND DAY. The asteroids in 2600 "Asteroids" are solid, colorful and vibrant as I originally hoped they would be! And man, those screens on the XL.......... they're BIG!! What a great machine this is.
