Does anyone know where to get a main board for a Sears 4-switcher?

Recommended Posts

My original Tele Games 4-switcher bit the dust, but all it needs is a main board (and cartridge connector). Can these be purchased somewhere for relatively cheap?

It's gotta be the same board as an Atari 4 switcher, so it shouldn't be too difficult to acquire one.

It could well be repairable.

Sadly, no. :(

It was my original game console so it holds much sentimental value, but I ruined the main board by attempting to unplug the cart connector. It was one of my first ill-advised gaming repair attempts. If anyone does not know, The VCS cart connector is soldered to the board, and if you pull up on the plastic housing surrounding the pins you will be left with a bunch of exposed pins and no way to get them back into the housing.

That is why I need a new main board for my Tele-Games 4-switcher.

That's repairable. All you need is another mainboard to take the parts from. :)

You might have some luck posting in the Wanted section of the Marketplace forum.

Every Sears 4sw I've opened had a R-14 board just like many of the 4sw Woody models.

If that's the case, and I believe it, then the old standard of Best Electronics is your friend for a Sears 4-switcher motherboard:

Go here Best Electronics Parts Page

and look for the line "Atari 2600 NTSC/US Populated Motherboard CA010434 $35.00 (two versions used, E-Mail Sales)"

I don't think I am telling you anything new, though, as you are a 900+ poster around here, and you were probably REALLY asking if there is a difference between the Sears and Atari models! :-)
