SpendTooMuchOnAtari #1 Posted November 16, 2010 I have a cart only Mean 18 Ultimate Golf for the 7800 which is NTSC, has been tested and is working 100%. The labels are quite nice as seen in the picture. I am not really sure what to ask on this one but I know it's just about the rarest, if not the rarest game in the 7800 library. I also realize that Tank Command is where the money is at regardless of the rarity although there seem to usually be more Tank Command's available than Mean 18 but that's just what I've noticed. Feel free to make me a reasonable offer, the "Gift" of paypal works great for me, I'd like to ship within the US. Here's a pic of the actual cart:
+save2600 #2 Posted November 16, 2010 (edited) Rarityguide.com says $18 for a loose Mean Golf and as we all know, you simply divide their price estimates in half in order to get the buddy-buddy Atari Age "discount". lmao Edited November 16, 2010 by save2600

purduecrum #4 Posted November 16, 2010 I picked my copy of Mean 18 up at a local Disc Replay for I think $1.99. It sucks that at least my local Disc Replay has decided that no longer will all Atari games be sold for 99 cents or $1.99. I have no idea what they are using for a guide, a few games seem high (Deadly Duck for $9.99), but I did pick up a River Raid II for $7.99 last week. Yeah, I think I agree with that. $18 seems off for this cart although I'm not saying it's worth a small fortune or anything either. What do you guys think the real value is of a NTSC Mean 18 with a nice label?
SpendTooMuchOnAtari #6 Posted November 16, 2010 I guess it's not worth too much more than the $18 now I looked into it on ebay. $28 shipped but stock photo so no actual picture which I never like. I didn't know this cart was so reasonably priced but if anyone wants mine, at least you know it's good with the actual picture and I have 100% feedback on ebay and here at AA. The ebay seller's feedback isn't too bad but has some dings. Here's the auction if anyone wants to chance $28 on a cart, unseen. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 160499909552

What do you guys think the real value is of a NTSC Mean 18 with a nice label? In all honesty I would say about the best you are gonna do on a loose one is around $30. You could get lucky and get more since crazy crap happens, but I wouldn't count on it. The 7800 market is really wacky. Mean 18 NTSC is really close in rarity to Tank Command, but for some reason doesn't command nearly the same price. I don't understand it, but that is the way it is. SpendTooMuchOnAtari #8 Posted November 16, 2010 Well, if anyone wants mine for $35 shipped by Paypal gift if possible, just let me know. It's in nice shape as shown in the pic in the original post. You may be able to get it cheaper but perhaps not in as good of condition. PM me if interested. Thanks for all the thoughts!
King_Salamon #9 Posted November 17, 2010 There's also a nice copy of this cart at Trade-N-Games site for $25.. so $35 is high. The difference between Tank Command and Mean 18 is one is a sports title which is always a tough sell. Now Ninja Golf is a different story!
OldAtarian #10 Posted November 17, 2010 (edited) I got a two for one deal of loose Mean 18 and Alien Brigade for less than 1/3 of what Tank Command goes for. Either Mean 18 is extremely undervalued or Tank Command is extremely overvalued. I'd stay away from Tank Command because the market will adjust sooner or later.
