AtariSociety #1 Posted November 18, 2010 (edited) Figured as I build out my Atari and gaming room, I would post a picture. I have crappy lighting in the room so the picture is fuzzy but will work on that. For now, I have been collecting various Atari 8bit and 16bit and soon 32bit systems. As a youth I worked hard earning $ with my paper route (back when young kids actually worked for their money as chores around the house was expected and paid $0 <grin>) and I purchased my own computer, an Atari 800. Wish I would have kept all my old gear but been paying lotsa $ lately re-purchasing computer systems I owned in the past! Anyway, far from done but right now I have a pretty good 8bit line going and now working on my ST. Adding a TT030 tomorrow. Pick it up tomorrow afternoon! Right now I have an Atari 2600 Heavy Sixer 1977 model, 400, 800, 1200xl, 600xl, 800xl, 130xe, XEGS, Lynx, and Jaguar. That completes my gaming and 8 bit line. Own almost all models other than the 65XE and some of the gaming systems but in time. Think I need a 5200 and 7800. hehehe. Then I have an original (no internal floppy drive) 520ST, Mega 2ST, and adding the TT030 tomorrow. Need to score a Falcon one day along with others. As for other vintage goods that will be in my Atari room is an Magnavox Odyssey 2 with The Voice. My Office I have at home is a whole other story sporting 2 NeXTcubes, various old and new Macs, but I will just concentrate on the Atari room for now. :D Here is a picture of my setup right now less the other 1/2 of the room that is a pig-sty with lotsa games all over and computer stuff. When I have it all done, will try and get better lighting and take a short video so you can get the idea of my little Atari and old computer hobby. tj Note: Atari banners will soon replace the girly foofoo wife art on the wall. +save2600 #4 Posted November 18, 2010 (edited) Yeah, really nice! Gotta love those trusty 1702's also All you need now is to take down what's hanging on the walls and replace 'em with vintage Atari computer paraphernalia. lol If you have the boxes to any of that stuff, maybe you could put shelves up to display them? The room kinda looks like it may have once belonged to the wifey, a sewing room of sorts? Of which you made yours, so maybe that was the tradeoff. lmao Edited November 18, 2010 by save2600

Too bad Atari never made monitors for the old 8 bit. As noted on my picture, yes, those artsy things will come down. This was our guest room I decided to take over. From now on quests that sleep over just can't sleep as we removed the nice sleigh bed and instead can play Atari all night. Not a bad trade-off in my book. tj
Havok69 #6 Posted November 19, 2010 Nice setup - you can really see how they slimmed down the XL line after the 800 with them right next to each other.
AtariSociety #7 Posted November 19, 2010 (edited) Quick video I took after picking up my TT030 yesterday and setting it up. Damn green paint and green table dealie-bobs + bad lighting makes taking pictures or videos a PITA. But, at least I have a room for my toys now. Can't wait to get the whole room clean and then I will take a whole new video showing my other part of the room with my Odyssey 2, 2600, Atari 400, Atari XEGS, and Jaguar all connected to my 30" LCD. tj Edited November 19, 2010 by macsociety
