Mission 3000 ... a clone of Bosconian!

Recommended Posts

DEWD! Incredibly I've never fired that game up once in Stella! Thanks for the heads up Rhindle! :) It is a good "psuedo clone" of Bosconian!

Man somebody needs to hack that thing into Bosconian stat! :D *calling Dr. Nukey Shay, Dr. Nukey Shay, please pick up the white courtesy phone...* :D :D :D

I always thought that could've been a great game, if only the player's ship weren't limited to eight directions. Something akin to the Asteroids ship would've been much more effective.

Nice!

I always wished for a game like this on the 2600, or 800. Bosconian was one of my favorite arcade games.

Thanks for the post.

It's a PAL game so you have to select Europe or ALL as the region when searching.

Taiwan-Cooper made an NTSC version. However, I did not see them in the Company list in the AA database.

They aren't listed because "Taiwan-Cooper" (or any of the many variants you'll find) isn't a company name. "Cooper Black" is the name of the font used for the game titles on the labels and boxes, and "MADE IN TAIWAN" is molded into the back of the cartridges, and that's all that is known about this publisher. Some recent ROM image compilations more correctly simply list this publisher's games as by "unknown".

bosconian is one of my all-time faves, heck i bought an x-68000 just for it's awesome enhanced version. I'd love to see what could be attempted by the 2600, just for the fun of it :)
