Turn off friend signon/off notifications?

How do you turn off the indicators when a friend signs on & off? With my new 250 gig model, I completely forgot how to turn 'er off. Looked in the menus to no avail.

I might be wrong but I think the only way to do it is to turn off ALL notifications. I dont think you can turn off friends notifications and leave achievement notifications on. Its all off or all on unfortunately.

 

You can also use an offline profile if you have one.

I could be wrong, but I've always been under the impression if you set your online status to "Busy" you won't receive online notifications. Not sure if you'll still receive achievements notifications when you do that.

Can't say I've ever used it.

Push the Xbox button to pull up the blades, go over to Personal Settings, choose online status and set to "Busy"

Try that and let us know if it works.

I hate the pop up notifications in general, but unless I'm playing with friends, I tend to stay logged out of live, so I don't get notifications one way or the other.

 

Unless you need to be on live for some reason, I'd suggest just logging out of it. You can set it to never log in, unless you manually tell it to.
