A question about the music in Thunder Castle

So I know the opening theme is the rondeau from 'Abdelazer' by Henry Purcell, and that the in-game music is Schubert's 8th Symphony but does anyone know what the fanfare music that plays when you get 'powered up' is? I have heard it before outside of the game and I know it's another classical work but I have no idea what it is and it's making me crazy. Hopefully we have some Classical / Intellivsion fans in here.

The power-up theme in the Forest level is from Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain (the excerpt that is used in the game is heard at about 2:55 in this piano interpretation by Boris Berezovsky):

The music that plays when you die is from Beethoven’s Ninth.

Interesting that you should bump this one ... I came back to it myself this past weekend, when I wanted to show my niece and nephew where the music in Thunder Castle came from. They've watched me play a lot of Thunder Castle already (they're not quite brave enough yet to try it themselves!) and we had just finished a game, so they immediately recognized the clip I referred to earlier.

I found it because someone left a comment on one of my videos where i used Thunder Castle music for the intro and he wanted to know what the music was. So i decided to do a search on the subject since i knew one of the songs from the game came from classical music but wasn't sure about the others.

I love Thunder Castle, especially the music. I've been trying to discover the origins of all the tunes in the game, and I'm still having trouble with a couple of them. I count nine musical events in the game, and I've identified seven of those pieces of music. I am still researching the following:

- Power-up music for the castle maze / wizard level

- Victory fanfare (same for all mazes / levels) (plays when the last guardian is slain and the level is completed)

Does anyone have any ideas about these last two pieces of music?

The theme at 33 sec would make great final credits music for Thunder Castle.

I agree. In fact, with all the great music in the game, I think it needs a different ending theme from the title screen. One thing I love about the game is that the title screen is fun and welcoming, and it sets the tone for the game and makes me want to play. I'd like an end theme that is a little mournful and which encourages me to hit reset and try again. Hearing the same tune in succession when I restart doesn't play on my psychology the way I wish it would. It makes me want to skip the title screen, and that counteracts the appeal that screen and its music have in the first place.
