I did get combined shipping with 7 other boxed games from $5 to $17. And I will play this. And I wanted the 1984 release. Did you see what E.T. went for? $39.74 from 23 bids. Andre81
Point me to where I can find a sealed box Gremlins or Video Cube for $105, please. All games where available for less or the same price sealed this year. I got two sealed copies of Video Cube for $24.99 (April) and $50 (February). I paid $199 for a NIB Track&Field in mint shape (don't think these were ever shrinkwrapped). Gremlins $69. Sealed Pengo for $81. All those CIB games sold for the price of a sealed one. You have a be extremely lucky (or spend 95% of your life on ebay) to find deals like that. I spend more than my fair share of time looking, and I've only had maybe 1-2 deals that good in the last 5 years.

But the prices for the red box games make even less sense because they are available sealed for less on eBay. Either the buyers didn't check eBay or something odd was going on here. I always laugh when I see you post about people paying a little too much for Atari stuff. You're like the king of paying more than fair market value. It's nice that you were able to find a few things on that list for less, but if you're buying multiple copies of games like Video Cube, you're no better than the resellers you constantly bitch about. A lucky BIN is not a good way to determine fair market value and frankly, other than the ugly Track & Field none of those were crazy prices especially in the pre-holiday season when Ebay prices hit their peak.
Andre81
Wow. Those are great prices. Was that on eBay? Yes, all on eBay. Another sealed Pengo sold also for about $90. I've also seen a few more Track&Field this year that all sold for a lot less than $200. I actually paid the most for the NIB one ($199) and our beloved resellers were also bidding on it. What puzzles me is that someone pays more for a CIB game than he could get a sealed one for.
roadrunner
^^^ I have no problem with you buying 2 sealed Video Cubes. I'm glad u got them instead of 2 certain resellers.I think most people who buy sealed games leave them sealed. Maybe the people who bought the CIB oneswanted to play the games instead of buying a sealed one.

I use the doubles in trades with other fellow collectors here. I will certainly not leave them on eBay and wait for one of the resellers to flip them.

Blazing Lazers
Bidding war or shill bidding? eBay Auction -- Item Number: 321279890067 I was watching that, and was confident that it might not get much attention at all, since it was not an easy auction to locate when Ii searched a second time for it. I had a high bid of $36 on it (and was prepared to go to around $150) for the better part of a day towards the end, but the night before or so I knew I wasn't going to wind when I saw it had suddenly jumped up to almost two hundred, and watched the last few minutes of the auction as it went up to $366. I don't think there was shill bidding on that, but it very much surprised me that there was no sniping at all at the end. My guess is a collector who really really wanted it and had a large wallet to back up the desire. Another part of it might be that by sheer coincidence there's another almost identical system (ending soon) up at the same time: http://www.ebay.com/itm/310828085140?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Edited December 29, 2013 by Blazing Lazers
Atari8bitCarts
This one I'm not sure of. The person states that they actually "repaired" the cartridges. That makes no sense to me. It wouldn't be easy and cost effective. And if they knew about chips, etc why is one of the chips exposed to light? And the other chip appears to have a label maker label on it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=201011559500&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:3160

nofrills100
There must be a new drug in town, and this guy's smoked too much. eBay Seller: joey272727 Opening bids on common carts at $4,999 with BINs of $10,000 I can imagine if he had something amazing that he was selling and he wanted to draw attention to his auctions.... But no... Just a bunch of commons. I've thrown a humorous message his way - I'm sure it will be an amusing response. Dauber
Check this out: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=201027899069&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123 I clicked "Ask the Seller a Question" and wrote: How exactly is this rare and worth $79.95 considering:http://atariage.com/store/index.php?l=product_detail&p=288?? Dauber
Heh...responded to this boob by saying (paraphrased) "Since you're calling it 'super-rare' despite the fact that it's easily available to purchase for less than half of what you're charging, I don't think I'm the one who's wasting your time." Got a reply saying, again paraphrasing," "Don't know if anybody ever told you this but nobody cares what you think," adding (NOT paraphrased) "you douche." Looked at eBay's policies and that message violates their policies; reported the cretin. (Do I care if that person sees this message? Not in the slightest. Hey, bub, see that avatar to the left? That's my face. If you bump into me some day, feel free to look me in the eye and discuss it, you frucking con artist.)
