RobR #1 Posted December 6, 2010 I was running Stella and sw in the game list a ROM listed as Game Select 208 in 1. I ran it and a screen came up with instructions on how to select the game by entering a # from 1 to 208 then hitting the fire button to select. I then came here to AA ("Hi, my name is Rob and (hic) I'm an alcoholic"....OOPS....wrong AA....Never Mind!) to see if Icould find any info on Game Select...NOTHING! My question is: Does anyone have a list of games (and #s) that this cart has? If you need more info, let me know. Thanks!

P.S. i just tried running it again and trying random selections and all it does is return to the game select screen Edited December 6, 2010 by RobR
R.Cade #3 Posted December 6, 2010 I'm sure Stella doesn't emulate the extra hardware that's in the cart to allow the game selection to work.
A.J. Franzman #4 Posted December 6, 2010 Correct, that binary is just the menu program from one particular multicart. The actual 208 game binaries are not included, so it doesn't do anything useful. There are several other similarly-useless "BIOS" type binaries available, including POP kiosks from Atari and Imagic, as well as the NTSC Supercharger and PAL Compumate. I think there are still some missing too, such as the NTSC Compumate and PAL Supercharger, and possibly some alternate kiosk versions.

+Omegamatrix #7 Posted December 7, 2010 More info on this rom can be found here: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/129916-208-in-1-multicart I thought about making a rom image with all of the roms in it, but it would be kind of useless as you have to power the console on and off to get back to the menu. Reset won't do it. This menu screen rom is also similar to undumped or yet unreleased roms.

+stephena #9 Posted December 7, 2010 I'm sure Stella doesn't emulate the extra hardware that's in the cart to allow the game selection to work. That's true for this ROM (for reasons mentioned above), but Stella does support other multi-game ROMs that are selectable with a consecutive power off/on cycle. To use these ROMs, the bankswitch type must be set to one of Xin1 types (where X is 2, 4, 8, 16, 32). Then, pressing Control-r will cycle to the next game in the ROM. RobR #11 Posted December 7, 2010 (edited) Thanks for the link. I'm going to go study it later tonight. I'm going to see how big my ROM is before I delete it. Edited December 7, 2010 by RobR
maiki #12 Posted December 7, 2010 Looking atz that 208 in 1 cart, that's exactly what Atari should have done when releasing their 32 in 1... a menu to select the game you want to play, not switching the poor console off and on all the time till it randomly appears... RobR #13 Posted December 7, 2010 (edited) Welcome to AA, first step is admitting you have a problem AX First of all, I did NOT admit I have a problem. Just because I want to get 99 points on Combat doesn't meam I have a problem. It just means I'm ambitious. Plus, the fact that my family isn't talking to me nymore just shows that they are the ones with the problem and the fact they they aren't supporting me just makes my resolve that much stronger. (slipping into madness) I'm not crazy. i was told that someone in Pequabuck, CT did achieve 98 points in Combat and I intend to beat that score. I WANT TO SEE MY NAME IN LIGHTS!! (being dragged away by the nice men in white suits) I...KnOW I cAn beat that scor... Rob Hi. I'm Rob and I'm a Emulaholic and I wish NOT to be cured! Javo28 #14 Posted May 7, 2018 it's supposed to be just a game selector and nothing else, I have a clone that has that system and it reaches 255 but it says it has 160 games
