Supergun #2 Posted December 11, 2010 Hi all, I am in need of four instruction manuals to complete my 7800 collection. I need them in good shape with no tears or writing. Please let me know if you have an extra or one you could part with. Thanks a lot! TITLEMATCH PRO WRESTLING SUPER SKATEBOARDIN' KUNG-FU MASTER TANK COMMAND I have an Atari 7800 Kung Fu Master manual here that I don't need. It is NOT in the condition you describe however. Granted, it has no rips, tears, or writing...but it has marks such as spots & stains. However, it's free for you if you want it.

SpendTooMuchOnAtari #5 Posted December 11, 2010 (edited) I wonder how much a Tank Command manual would run me? I do still need the cart but I don't see it often on ebay with just the cart and manual. I wouldn't mind picking the manual up before hunting down a reasonably priced cart. I also need just a few carts but I have most of the rare one's (except Tank Command and that's the only one I still need the cart and manual for) Realsports Baseball (the version with "Baseball" in black lettering on the cart) Tomcat (the version that states it's for the 2600 but really only works in the 7800). I have the regular one. Tank Command (someday) I'm so close! Edited December 8, 2011 by SpendTooMuchOnAtari
SpendTooMuchOnAtari #6 Posted December 15, 2010 I just added a few pics of my 7800 carts to the original post.

SpendTooMuchOnAtari #8 Posted December 17, 2010 I've got boxes for some of your loose 7800 games. PM if you're interested! PM sent on that, thanks! I have a question for you guys. Do you think I should hold out for a better deal on a Realsports Baseball with the black lettering because I've been watching this one for over a month and it was relisted at the same price with no best offer. Seems too much to me but it's a tough one for me to find. I also need the Tomcat 2600 cart that only works in 7800's which seems like a crap shoot if going through ebay. Anyone have an extra for sale or trade? Here is that Baseball BIN: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 270630734447 Hold off?
Carey85 #9 Posted December 17, 2010 I think you should definitely hold out for a better deal on a black letter variant of Realsports Baseball. As far as the error label F-14 Tomcat goes, you'll just have to use your best judgement. That turned out being one of the last 7800 carts I obtained and the only reason I found it was because Tempest had it in a FS thread and I snagged it. For what it's worth, there's an error label Tomcat available over at atari2600.com.
SpendTooMuchOnAtari #10 Posted December 17, 2010 I didn't see the error label on Atari2600.com - only the normal 2600 and normal 7800 version is what I saw. Could you link that for me? I think I will hold out on the Baseball, $13 shipped is just too much, I'm sure another will come along at a better price. Patience is key to building a complete collection at a reaonable price. SpendTooMuchOnAtari #12 Posted December 18, 2010 https://www.atari2600.com/item--Tomcat-F-14-Fighter-Simulator--ATA78GAM0187.html There you be. Thank you kindly, not too bad of a price depending on label condition. I would have to email and see if that would be possible, I would really like to see the cart before purchasing, with my OCD and all, ya know?
Carey85 #13 Posted December 19, 2010 I've actually gotten my ass burnt slightly there in the past. Paid for a CIB Food Fight once and the box arrived wrecked, paid for an Alien Brigade manual and got an international version that had been folded, and most recently got a picture label Gunslinger with a dogeared end label. I've mostly chalked it up to "shit happens" because I didn't ask condition before pulling the trigger so I never made a stink about it. The other 90% of my transactions there in the past have been top-notch, though.
SpendTooMuchOnAtari #14 Posted December 19, 2010 That's a pretty good percentage ratio of positive. I just received two instructions in the mail today for my collection and the Double Dragon includes the extra "corrections" paper that is seperate than the instruction manual. It was a neat surprise to get this extra part to the manual that I didn't even know about. Does your Double Dragon for the 7800 have this thing? Here's a link to the AA scan of the paper: AtariAge LINK I also got the F-18 manual in the deal and I believe it is the largest one for the 7800 (if going by the dimensions, not pages). I sent a money order for these around the time I started this thread. $6 for both was a good price for two fairly hard to find 7800 manuals.
Carey85 #15 Posted December 19, 2010 (edited) I just checked my manual from my Double Dragon and it doesn't have that revision card. As far as F-18 Hornet goes, it does have a large manual. Absolute used large boxes on all of their 7800 games aside from Kung-Fu Master if my memory serves me correct. All I can figure is that they got a deal on oversized PC/C64/8-bit boxes as opposed to the standard size for 7800 cartridges. It actually makes them slightly inconvenient to store, to tell the truth. One slightly peculiar thing about my Double Dragon 7800 box is that it does have a strange sticker on the back of the cartridge to accompany the SKU on the bottom of the packaging. I'm not sure if it was from the original retailer for inventory purposes or if it might've been in a rental library at some point. Anyhow, here it is. SpendTooMuchOnAtari #16 Posted December 19, 2010 I'm sure quite a few were put out before they started putting this corrections paper in. It's just another piece to the 7800 set, I'm trying for everything now as I've slowly stepped it up to boxes. Otherwise, my hunt and journey would be over soon and I can't have that right now. I need a quest.
SpendTooMuchOnAtari #17 Posted December 25, 2010 I just added a Mean 18 box to my collection so I now have that one CIB. I'm still on the hunt for some 7800 boxes so let me know if you have any extras. Thanks guys!
SpendTooMuchOnAtari #18 Posted January 5, 2011 I got a great deal on a Scrapyard Dog box from Chris Leach. Also, I have too many Mean 18 Ultimate Golf's now so if anyone is in need of a cart, instructions, the box or all of it....let me know.
SpendTooMuchOnAtari #19 Posted February 16, 2011 I think you should definitely hold out for a better deal on a black letter variant of Realsports Baseball. I held out for a cheaper Realsports Baseball with the black lettering and it is pretty hard to find. The only other one on ebay has been at $10 plus ship. I found mine by getting a fairly good priced 2600 Star Strike buy it now and searching their other auctions. They used a stock photo for the Baseball so like so many times before with other sellers, I messaged the question about the lettering and finally, out of a bunch of sellers that use stock photos and the people that take their own, I found one! And, I had already bought the Star Strike with only $2.20 shipping so paid together and was only charged 45 cents more to ship the Baseball, great deal! It's funny because I just found the white label version of Star Strike with the manual in a huge lot of games I bought at a sale last weekend so now I have both. SpendTooMuchOnAtari #22 Posted March 4, 2011 Bump! Do you still need the Tomcat label variant? I sure do, that and Tank Command are the last two I need and my cart collection will be complete. You have one in nice shape?
SpendTooMuchOnAtari #23 Posted April 8, 2011 (edited) I updated my 7800 collection pics as I recently added many cool boxes. I also decided to snap a few more shots of some other dust collectors. EDIT: I just noticed I cut out 90 percent of my PS2 collection in the pics. Edited April 8, 2011 by SpendTooMuchOnAtari
SpendTooMuchOnAtari #24 Posted April 22, 2011 (edited) I just got all of the games out of the boxes to reduce the stress on them, got them all cleaned up nice and ready to be displayed with the others. I will then have my playing copies of certain titles too. It's coming along nicely and I added two more boxes to my collection: Fight Night and Super Huey, I got them sealed but I opened them because the wrap has warped the boxes because of how tight it is and would only get worse. I don't really like sealed games too much but do like a nice sealed Gamecube title! Not really sure why but I love the Cube too. I'll update the one pic of the 7800 games because the boxes are looking great but still a far way from a CIB set. Still really close on the cart and manual collection though which is one of the reasons I'm typing all this....a legit bump!
