Donald Duck was released outside U.S.??

Recommended Posts

To the best of my knowledge both Donlad Duck and Xevious have shown up on Brazillian pirate carts. My best guess is that either someone from Atari leaked the roms or they were sent overseas to be released in Europe (which they never were) and the roms made their way to the pirate scene that way.

I didn't know about Xevious, but I think JerryG also has Donald Duck on a Brazilian multicart (don't know if it's the same one). It was said to be a Polyvox release for a long time, but I've talked to some Brazilian collectors and they're pretty sure it was never released by that company.

I have seen Donald Duck on three different released carts and one of them is a silver label Polyvox release.

Well waddya know? Time to add that one back into the database. Thanks for the link!

I know who won that cart and I am sure he'd be willing to provide you guys with a scan of it.

Hey guys,

I'd be glad to make a scan of it (haven't received it yet, though). What are the kind of specs/dimensions do you use for the scans? Are they JPG? I can do pretty much do any format (PC formats).

Just a quick side note, I also have Donald Duck Speedboat from Brazil made by Digivision. It's a decent game. There seems to be some coding bugs in it though. When you ride across the screen, sometimes the pixels go crazy. At first I thought the ROM was going bad, but I was able to repeat this condition multiple times at the same spot in the game.

Jim,

Thanks for the offer. We'd love to get scans of both DDSB games if possible. TIFF is probably preferable, although JPG is okay at 300dpi or better. You can send it to [email protected] Thanks!
