Intellivision Ebay Roundup

Recommended Posts

Here's a Mattel computer from 1981. Check out the modified running man on the back!

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1980-Mattel-The-Childrens-Discovery-System-Kids-Learning-Computer-New/124512388379?hash=item1cfd84451b:g:JHEAAOSwhJJf8fFs

One review noted how small the screen resolution was, which limited it severely, and how slow the system was to startup. The included game-modes on the console were also criticized, the type-mode didn't provide feedback on its word games, music-mode was described as pointless due to how basic it was and how the music is represented by letter graphics instead of notes, but the art-mode was praised for being a good introduction to computer graphics, although the process of drawing pixel-by-pixel was described as tedious.

Yeah, that sounds about right for a Mattel computer ?

Quite good stuff indeed, but as far as I’m concerned I have to stay away from that stuff: I’m already ruining myself big time with Intellivision.?

I’m truly attracted by Acquarius too, I think it’s really cool, but gotta wait until my Intelliaddiction has cooled down a bit (and I find some more space at home..)

I do this for every auction I see lol... sometimes it’s not pictured but listed in the description or vice versa. Sometimes you can’t really tell what one or more items are so I always ask as not to miss out on something good. I remember sometimes I would find something good that was hidden but once I asked they updated the auction to include it haha.

Definitely. Just a couple weeks ago I went through every eBay Intellivsion auction in Canada. In a lot of about 20 loose cartridges I saw a double-label Vectron so I messaged the seller and made him a solid offer that he accepted. Needed to overpay to get someone to break-up a lot, but it worked.  I'm sure he was wondering why I was willing to pay $10 for one cart out of 20 in his $30 auction.

I use to do that a lot way back. eBay was a lot less restricted back then too... I hate not being able to see the bidders ha. We use to find big sellers had multiple accounts and bid their own auctions up lol... plus knowing who gets what as I saved all auctions back then

I was snooping on eBay this morning and found this: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Intellivision-II-Console-Computer-Module-Intellivoice-Bundle-New-with-Boxes/203292548774?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144

Everything looks complete to me, and the units and boxes look to be in excellent condition (they say new in the description). A very reasonable bidding price as well (at least for far) of 52$ USD plus shipping.

They also have a second similar set for sale, plus a lot of other vintage gaming items. Someone downsizing their collection perhaps?

They sell a lot of random stuff and all different systems. I saw those as they listed and watching to see how they go.
