At least it includes international shipping.....

The seller looks to be in the US but in the description it’s written:

"We are located in Japan.

It's our pleasure to make you happy by proposing our recommend item.
If you have any questions or request about items, please feel free to ask us.
International Buyer Note.
-Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility."

Custom duties might apply...

$1500.00 is completely insane for a version of a game that is just not that good. Besides the graphics which are well drawn and a nice use of colors the game has terrible controls and collision detection especially on the 2nd screen. If you have a copy you're lucky because it's so rare but it's for serious collectors only and completists only. It only has only 2 of the 4 arcade screens, 50 % of the original game is MIA. The colecovision version is way better and has 3 out of the 4 screens and I'm a big intellivision fan saying that.

I got one like that from Japan a few years ago for $200, the system is still in shrinkwrap inside the box, though the box is not

Just as a public service announcement I offered $500 and was auto rejected. Lol.

To be honest, almost every cartridge based home version of Congo Bongo only had screens 1 and 4. The Colecovision one is the exception to the rule, plus that later on there were improved disk based versions for C64, Apple II etc with all screens. Sega themselves even flattened out the perspective for their own SG-1000 version so while it in principle has two levels, neither look or play anything like the arcade or the other home versions.

Perhaps this is the wrong place to suggest it, but with the recent quality of homebrews, I could see someone make a "Congo Bongo Arcade" game, perhaps with different level designs and graphics to circumvent breaching intellectual properties while still keeping the type of gameplay on the four screens.
