No love for X-Men?

Recommended Posts

Is there no love for Konami's X-Men Arcade around these parts? I'm beginning to think I was the only person who was excited about it.

I remember back in the day visiting the arcade and playing that huge double screened 6-player cabinet. There was always a crowd around it and a line to play each character. The people waiting their turn endlessly talked about comics, the failed cartoon pilot, and the potential of a home release of the arcade game.

I remember being disappointed that X-Men never made it home. Looking back, I think it's for the best. The home equipment just wasn't there to do the game justice. Any home port before the current era would have been a crippled version of the 4 player single screen version at best. It may have taken a long time, but now it's here in full widescreen high rez glory.

I was thrilled!

I've played through it several times, already, got all the achievements, etc.

Great fun. One of my all time favorite beat 'em ups.

It's pretty great, Bought it the day it came out. Much better than that "other" amazing beat em' up from the 90's that was ported and effectively reskinned and ruined. The one with the ninjas. That happen to be turtles.

I was excited back when I played it to death on my original xbox. My 360's ethernet port is fried so I can't go online.

No love for X-men? Correction: Much love for X-Men! When I got my PS3 for Christmas, I got it with Street Fighter IV, Little Big Planet, Final Fantasy XIII, and within minutes of having set it up, I had also downloaded X-Men Arcade. I had played and beat X-Men Arcade before I even busted into the hard copy games! I'm hoping we'll see TMNT arcade and Simpsons arcade since they along with X-Men are all built on the same engine. That's the hope. But no, no lack of love for X-Men arcade here....it should've become a home port for Genesis and/or SNES...that's what should've happened.
