Lynx Prototypes & a couple of other thing...

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if any of the prototypes listed in the rarity guide are actually out there? Like in collectors collections? Do they ever show up on Ebay?

There's not all that many games to have the full set for the Lynx (101 I think) excluding prototypes. I've been thinking about trying to get the whole collection for the Lynx (already have 7) so that leaves 94... and they seem cheap enough on Ebay.

Not made my mind up weather I should try or not. I can imagine it being a nice feeling when you get the last few elusive titles to make it whole.

The first lynx being a prototype, dit had a b&w screen, but later on it was decided to add a color screen because they knew that it could stand out from other b&w handhelds.

It was also planned but likely cancled to have cassette tapes as an storage medium, that idea still has it's traces left, as the chosed type is slow and there,re 2 useless pins wich regulate the start/stop signal for the cassette tape, the low ram speed can be only overcome by sending small amount of data per time, the start/stop pins maybe possibly useble for interpreter chips in game carts wich could interpret these signals as the way you want it,but not sure.
