fdurso224 #1 Posted December 27, 2010 Hi guys, What was the best video game finds in the trash? I found a 4ft Nintendo sign back in 1988. It was in front of my local toy store and now its worth about $200-300 for it retail. Anthony.....
jhd #2 Posted December 28, 2010 I once found a (2600) Donkey Kong Jr. cart and a joystick. Not quite game related, but on another occasion, I found a big pile of printer cables, etc. -- I passed on the Zip drive. One evening, I left an old computer desk out by the same bin and it was gone within a few hours.
HatefulGravey #3 Posted December 28, 2010 I found 4 arcade machines at a dump once. I'm not normally the kind to bring things home from the dump, but I had to. One was a 4 slot Neo Geo machine. When I opened it there was a shelf built into the front door. The 4 slot machine still worked, there were 4 games in it, and another 10 or so on the shelf in the door. The monitor was out and I guess the original owners thought the unit was completely screwed. I sold the guts for more then enough to make a MAME machine from the cab. When I look back I kind of wish I had restored the machine, but I love my MAME machine to so who knows. The other 3 machines were only good for the cabs themselves. I gutted them and I'm building some friends MAME machines too when they decide to get to it. I was happy with my dumpster find.
Pong #4 Posted December 29, 2010 Super Mario Galaxy, still sealed, after it came out. Wow. But, nothing retro, still hoping for a NES. Or a job.

TheGameCollector #9 Posted January 4, 2011 I found my cousin's Zelda: Majora's Mask Player's Guide in the recycling at my own place and took it back inside to my bookshelf. I guess my uncle did it because he was selling most of his Nintendo 64 stuff for Gamecube stuff back then.
Arkhan #10 Posted January 4, 2011 I found a Virtual Boy, in working condition! Talk about bringin' the trash home. My favorite find in the trash was an Atari 2600 w/ a crate of games. I had most of the games so I traded them for ones I didn't have, but man was that funny. I drove by as the person was dumping them on the lawn so I slammed on my breaks, got out and went "hi ill take those" and threw them in my car and drove off, lol. I made sure to ask "got anything else?" before I left. They said "no. were keepin the colecovision". Man if they'd tossed out a Colecovision... oh man.
