I was about to agree with you, but I misunderstood the topic.

You might try online, but I find that repair shops and classified ads net better bargins.

Not sad, but very broke individual

Not sure if you want to spend over $100 or .. ?

I do have a laptop lying around I could part with, but not for only $100 :)

I have a 50 mhz(maybe 40mhz? don't remember. I'll try it out again though if you want it) that I could sell for pretty cheap. It's got a laptop case and a power supply. The hard drive is pretty small, no cd-rom drive, has a floppy drive. I'm pretty sure it has 8 MB of ram. Depending on what you need it for, this could work for you.

The laptop I'm trying to get rid of is a PII 233Mhz, Active Matrix screen, I *believe* 6GB drive, working battery, 128MB, 56K modem and ethernet. I'll let it go for $200 obo. If interested, PM me.

of course i meant <100 because there is no way I could afford more

Ice cold, How much would you want for it?

If its colour it sounds perfect for my needs.

Obviously I dont have mucbh money but dependoing on what you

want for it and what you would consider fair trade maybe we could do

a full out trade, or even cash and trade.

How is the screen? any missing pixels?

do the ports work? got any photos?

got a model number? what model what make?

any documents you still got? just curious.

hope to do business with you ice cold.

It is color. The screen seems to be in good condition, actually great condition. The ports all work for me, I tried serial(to use a mouse), monitor and ps/2 ports, all work. It's got a power supply which works good too. I'm pretty sure the battery is dead though :( . I'm pretty sure the make/model is something like Compaq Contura 410c. It's at least 40mhz, I'm about 98% sure it is 40mhz. I kept thinking it was 50mhz, but I'm 98% sure it is 40mhz. It has 8MB of ram.

What are your needs for it anyways? And yes, I'm always up for trades! :)

this isn't a picture of MY laptop, because I have no digital camera, but it's what mine looks like and I think it's the same model.

Light typing and old games thats what ive been looking for in the laptop

that system would be a dream!

A TRACKBALL!!! im sure i saw one did i?

I LOVE TRACKBALLS! the first computers i ever used had trackballs

any clue on the weight?

how does the connector on the power supply look like?

battery there? does it work?

that wont affect me wanting it, its just an added bonus if it did.

I am very interested in this thing..

got a list of common to almost rare 2600 games you are looking for?

of course as always a bit of cash would be good to send.

im sorry im excited.

It works good for typing. I'm not sure EXACTLY how good it will be for old games though. As with most old laptops I've seen, it seems like the screen refreshes slower than usual. Of course there may be a setting you could change, or if the game is not extremely fast paced it won't matter. It's still usable for old games though. I've used it for NES emulation too.

Yes, you did see a trackball :) . Mine works pretty good too, surprising considering I've heard that most old trackballs on laptops don't work anymore.

It's not a very heavy laptop and pretty small considering its age. The power supply connector looks almost like one a NES or Genesis uses, but you won't have to worry about it because it has the power supply. It has the battery too but it won't charge at all.

Yes, cash is always good to send :D I don't really have a list of rare games for 2600 I want, and can't think of any I really need or want.

Processor: 486-DX2 (didn't say speed ive seen 40 50 and even 75!)

but i take your word on 40

Memory: 8MB (even you said that)

Screen: 8.5" TFT (tft is better than most screens)

Hard Disk: 800MB (not huge but more than enough for my needs)

Ports: Serial, Parallel, Monitor, PS2, Docking Port, 2 x PC Card (Type II), AC In.

Well you said all of em work, cept maybe the PCMCIA files you gotta

have stuff for that, which you may i dont know

Dimensions: 305(W) x 220(D) x 50(H) mm

Weight: 2.8KG (much much lighter than 12lbs!!) i believe its 5lbs+ or so

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 95

Battery: NiMH

no good you say

but i dont mind, i could get it rebuilt or remove it for less weight!)

Information: Writers Machine.

any modem? even if it doesn't it has those 2 PCMCIA or whatever ports

so i can get a modem for that. I think i have one for some silly reason.

Most of that stuff sounds pretty right, except the hard drive, mine is like 200mb. And I'm not sure if the pcmcia slots work, but they should. and if they do you can get a modem for them CHEAP. I also bet you could get a external hard drive for pretty cheap too, since I doubt 200mb is enough.

What extra game systems do you have? I'd rather have a whole different system than just games. Do you have any extra 8 bit Atari computers?

I already have an intv. Do you have any other extra systems? And do you have any jaguar games or an extra composite cable for it? We could maybe do a cash + trade.

I actually need a composite cable myself, my jag's RF has

been on the fritz.

and the games I have are very few...

jeez so far ive not been all too lucky with spare stuff!

But I really do like the idea of a cash + trade idea, that way

you get both stuff and a bit of money...

keep listing stuff maybe you will catch something eventually :P

hehe :) . Do you have a Neo Geo Pocket Color? Or maybe a Neo Geo CD system thing(I could give you money and the laptop if you have one of those)? Or a Turbo Duo? Or a nomad? Or a gameboy advance? or an ST computer? or a colecovision?
