rpgcollector #101 Posted January 26, 2011 Got my five games yesterday. They look amazing. No time to play them until this weekend (wrestling duals and softball starting). Can't wait to play them. I will post my thought after. Thanks again!!
riffraff #102 Posted January 26, 2011 I personaly still use documents about Z80 (particulary "How to program the Z80 (Rodnay Zaks)" This book is the best. I have it next to me all the time when coding Z80.
ten-four #103 Posted January 26, 2011 Hi Luc. The games arrived very well here in Denmark. But the postal service has not been nice with the package, it has been thrown around. But the games and the T&F controller survived, and that was most important.
Pixelboy #104 Posted January 26, 2011 Hi Luc. The games arrived very well here in Denmark. But the postal service has not been nice with the package, it has been thrown around. But the games and the T&F controller survived, and that was most important. It's a good thing "FRAGILE" was written on the package, or else it would have probably been crushed to a pulp. Also, I would like to point out that I wrap each game in bubble wrap before placing them in the shipping box, a fact that is not shown in ten-four's picture. Thanks Ole. Yurkie #106 Posted January 26, 2011 I think they throw it off the truck twice if it says "Fragile" on it. I agree. I seriously doubt whether people sorting packages give crap if it says fragile, and if they are having a bad day they likely get extra rough when they read that. I bought such boxes at Staples, and they had the "fragile" label pre-printed. Perhaps I should cover it up, to decrease the chances of damage!

Write "Fragile" on a box , it is the best way to make some postman play soccer with , believe me that's not a joke unfortunaly.

Kinda like in Ace Venture when Jim Carey's character is delivering a fake packge to a dog-napper... never knew there are so many ways to abuse a package and the movie probably gave postal workers some new ideas. Yurkie #115 Posted January 27, 2011 +1 for you Yurkie... hope the MPAA doesn't come knocking! I just found the video on Youtube. I didn't upload it. I am kind of surprised Youtube didn't delete it and send the uploader a copyright warning.
Kiwi #116 Posted January 28, 2011 Newcoleco, don't worry, you won't be forgotten. Many of the games created over the last several years or so have relied heavily on the work that you've done. There may be the next generation of programmers, but you're still one of the godfathers (in a good way)! I second this! Daniel, you're a pionneer of CV homebrew scene.... How can we forget you? May be Daniel , you should change your Nickname to OldColeco now. Concerning my personnal case, i would never start coding on Coleco if i didn't find your work. I have a strong resistance renaming newcoleco to Neocoleco. Yes, his tools and resource are awesome. -- I'm planning of picking up Gulkave very soon. It really up my alley and maybe Girl's Garden. I think my girlfriend would make fun of me getting Girl's Garden. and anyone considering making a glass case cartridge might want to reconsider because of Ace Ventura video or upgrade to diamond case carridge. Pixelboy #117 Posted January 31, 2011 I'd be all for a Track & Field II with 4 more events like Javalin, Disc, Hurdles, 1500m or something like that. Just a idea Thaaaaat's... not gonna happen. Well, waddaya know, it's happening! eBay Auction -- Item Number: 160539645571
King_Salamon #118 Posted January 31, 2011 What a shame... I recall Eduardo wanting to auction off games because he never thought there would be a commercial viability. For some of the titles I suppose there is a possibility but Track and Field 2? I think the sales of Track and Field one have shown there's a market for this one. Maybe one day, one of the prototype buyers will release the rom so we can at least play the game (and the others for that matter!) Perhaps we could pool some money together and buy one of these? Hmm... anyone think this is a good idea? Maybe get 20 people chip in some money and that should be enough to secure one of these carts? Then we could have someone (pixelboy perhaps?) dump the rom and either send out the roms or perhaps make a pcb and a label and mail them out to us? Just a suggestion as there are 2 of us here that would be down for Track And Field 2 already. I don't need a box and manual, although I wouldn't say no to it either. Girl's Garden looks like a child's game (it did to me when I saw the box) and at first, it seems pretty straightforward.. but when you hit level 7... wow, that game will kick your @$$. lol If anything, you'll get a look for having a light pink cartridge in your collection! lol (Hey Luc, how many colours of shells did you get made? You've used light and dark pink now... what else is there to look forward to?)

First of all, I want to say that I have no problem with Eduardo releasing this proto, just in case anyone here is wondering. Secondly, I consider this a proto like any other, which means that I think the winning bidder is at total liberty to keep the software for himself, especially if the auction ends at a high price. And given the demand for T&F1, I think each of the 5 proto cart auctions of T&F2 will end at a VERY high price, especially considering those who bought T&F1 from me with a T&F controller included, who I expect would LOVE to get their hands on this proto. All this to say that I wouldn't get my hopes up about getting this thing dumped by anyone in the short term, if I were you. For some of the titles I suppose there is a possibility but Track and Field 2? I think the sales of Track and Field one have shown there's a market for this one. I offered $1000 (back awhile) to Eduardo to let me publish those protos, but he refused Think of it, 5 copies selling at $400 each (approx) is better for him And I don't think he like me either,(My messages ARE ALWAYS removed from his website) ... so... that's sad since I've so MUCH RESPECT for him and his works.... He could at least ask (his old friend) Pixelboy to release Track n Field 2 since he already release the first one... Perhaps we could pool some money together and buy one of these? Hmm... anyone think this is a good idea? Maybe get 20 people chip in some money and that should be enough to secure one of these carts? I don't think Ed would be happy to hear that ... even if I would be up for this idea... All in all, I think every homebrewers/programmer have a major role in the CV scene EDUARDO, IF YOU SEE THIS MESSAGE, I BEG YOU TO COMEBACK HERE, YOU'RE ALWAYS WELCOME! Pixelboy #124 Posted January 31, 2011 He could at least ask (his old friend) Pixelboy to release Track n Field 2 since he already release the first one... I honestly don't think I would have helped Eduardo publish it. In the end, my only concern with Track & Field was to get rid of my large stash of Atari 2600 T&F controllers, and that's a done deal, so now I'm moving on. That's why I don't mind seing this particular proto pop up on eBay. I wish Eduardo the best of luck with it.
Ikrananka #125 Posted February 1, 2011 Girl's Garden looks like a child's game (it did to me when I saw the box) and at first, it seems pretty straightforward.. but when you hit level 7... wow, that game will kick your @$$. lol If anything, you'll get a look for having a light pink cartridge in your collection! lol I played Girl's Garden for s while at the weekend and it has grown on me immensely. The music, graphics and gameplay are all top notch. Don't be put off by the game's excessive cuteness - underneath is a highly polished, well balanced, challenging, and above all fun game, albeit with a steep difficulty curve (but probably just as steep as most other CV games). At first I thought I'd dislike the game for it's cuteness but I soon got past that and now really like it. It really is a lot of fun and I will certainly add it to my long list of games that I really like to play but am crap at. High score so far = 48,680 (Level 6) Not sure I want to get to Level 7 after what King_Salamon said above
