S1500 #1 Posted January 2, 2011 Alrighty, another ColecoVision purchase from Craigslist. The $50 ad I saw fell through(already sold), but this one was for $80, he reduced it to $70 for me, originally for $100. What I didn't expect was an Atari 5200 controller, but by far, I got one! I haven't tested anything yet. Just got home. But I'm really hoping that 5200 controller works. If THESE 2 cv controllers don't work with my 1st modded CV, I'm going to ponder replacing the controller chip. The CV#2 looks relatively clean. So, did I get a good deal or not? Also have some manuals & such for games I don't even have.
S1500 #2 Posted January 2, 2011 Also, does anyone know what that USB adaptor is for?
OldSchoolRetroGamer #3 Posted January 2, 2011 If it works it is a sweet deal for sure! Cannot completely make out the end of the USB adapter, is it for a mini headphone plug? If so than I assume it adapts regular stereo headphones to USB.
S1500 #4 Posted January 2, 2011 The other end looks like an s-video port. I'm assuming it's for maybe an Xbox? The Atari 5200 controller, despite looking less beat-up than my first one, doesn't work. Only the 2 & 3 keys on the keypad work. I think i might take it apart & see what I can do with it. Oddly enough, it has some self-centering to it on the analog stick. fiddlepaddle #5 Posted January 3, 2011 The USB port may be to convert old-style (PS/2) mouse or keyboard to USB... If everything works, sounds like OK price.
Murph74 #6 Posted January 3, 2011 The USB cable looks like the system end of a break-away cable for a controller to me (similar to Xbox 1 controllers). Working, $70 is probably fair. At closer to $45-50 it would be a sweet deal IMO!
