maximebeauvais #26 Posted January 4, 2011 I started collecting in 98. My main source was yard sale, pawn shop, flea market...etc and newsgroup add. 1) price was very very low 2) every week, I was able to get a lot of stuff (all kind of video game related stuff for cheap) 3) almost every day, I was doing a trip to the store near my office and I always got good stuff. 4) however, a few year after, with the ebay popularity, price was higher and the stuff was more and more rare 5) I stopped to do my store round after work 6) I was still going to yard sale on weekend until maybe 2 years ago....I was spending more gaz then founding game so there was no point to continue Then in 99 I found yahoo auction and a few month after ebay (member since 99). 1) the price for atari on yahoo auction was very cheap. i was able to snap a lot of rare item but then this web site became obsolete compare to ebay 2) I first I was kind of scare to ebay. But after a few try, it was a great tool to get cheap atari game. the fonction new listed item was the way to go.....every thursday night, I was doing refresh after refresh and I was able to snap a lot of good auction at a good Buy It Now price....however, more and more people was using this feature LOL 3) Every morning I was spending 30 min to 1 hour to go the new item and watch at the picture....some seller was not doing a good description and I was able to find good treasure. 4) BUT all good think end....ebay really suck now and you can't find good deal anymore 5) OR it's maybe because there is TOO MUCH collector so now, my atari 2600 collection is almost the same for the last 3-4 years....I don't have a lot of interest like I use to have. I have over 650 game maybe and the one that I need is now too expensive for me. This is probably the reason why I went with INTV.
