Keir #4 Posted December 10, 2002 Ms. Pac-Man would be another sequel which was far better than the first (on the 2600 at least). No "two" in the name though....

Cupcakus #8 Posted December 10, 2002 Every level has secret bonus points you can collect... Revealing this will probably kill my #1 TG score I was going to submit... but who cares :-) The underwater level has the best... Simply jump up to the turtle level (The only level where you can't be killed) and collect the bubbles that come up. When the turtle dives, the bubbles stop coming... so you have to wait until he comes back... collect as many bubbles as you can until time is running VERY short... then jump up and hit the center of a log... if you miss the center and end up on the top of the water level you lose all the bonus points you collected... so be carefull.... but if you do it correctly each time you hit the center of the log you could get 4000+ points!!!! The above water level's bonus points are in the lilly pads... each time you jump from one, it dissapears, each one you make dissapear is bonus points... so make sure to jump on every lilly pad for the points! It takes good timing to do this in the levels with the shark, but you can get it! Once you've jumped on every lilly pad, jump in the intertube for 1000+ points. The sky level has the hardest bonus points... it's the butterfly... collect as many butterflies as you can, but be carefull because each one you collect opens a larger hole in the cloud, so only collect as many butterflies as you can safely traverse the sky level. The sky level is the hardest level, especially once the plane starts coming.... That's it... I beat the #1 top score at Twin Galaxies after only the second round of levels easy... and I can play until about round 8 before I start to lose. :-) On the sky level

Well, for the 2600 it was, I suppose. As far as the arcades went, it was about number 5: I think the order was Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Super Pac-Man, Pac-Man Plus, THEN Jr. (Others followed too, of course.) MattyXB #12 Posted December 10, 2002 Maybe you can count too: Star Wars - The Arcade Games Star Wars - The Empire strikes back Star Wars - Return of the Jedi - Death Star Battle Star Wars - Jedi Arena
Sir Plus #13 Posted December 10, 2002 Well, for the 2600 it was, I suppose. As far as the arcades went, it was about number 5: I think the order was Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Super Pac-Man, Pac-Man Plus, THEN Jr. (Others followed too, of course.) I had no idea that there were that many Pac-Man games for the Atari ! He was referring to arcade machines. But he left out BabyPacMan. Which makes the arcade Jr. at least #6 (I don't know about PacMan&ChompChomp, ProfessorPacMan, and PacNpal - which were all released the same year as Jr.). I didn't include Pinball machines, even though Baby was 1/2 that. Not including the hacks as well, since there must be over twenty of them or so. Sir Plus #14 Posted December 10, 2002 Correction: PacManPlus is a hack... so Jr. is at least #5 (#8 at most).
Witchfynde #15 Posted December 10, 2002 Correction: PacManPlus is a hack... so Jr. is at least #5 (#8 at most). Well, it was a legitmate release though. Pac-Man does junk food...rather odd. Eating the prize enabled you to eat the monsters was good too.

Eating the prize enabled you to eat the monsters was good too. True.... but I pointed it out since I was eliminating all the other legit hack releases (like HanglyMan, Ms.PacManPlus, etc., etc.). Including all those would put it way down the list. Do you know the order of the other three? KLOV just shows the year.

Including all those would put it way down the list. That's why I didn't include them. Stupid rip-offs! Feh! Do you know the order of the other three? KLOV just shows the year. Nope, that's why I didn't list 'em. Something like Baby Pac-Man, Professor Pac-Man, Jr. Pac-Man, and Pac-Mania. There were a few others too that I never saw in an arcade, but don't know the names...Virtual Pac-Man was one, I think.
Sir Plus #18 Posted December 10, 2002 Nooo I meant the order of the three that were released the same year as PacManJr. (1983). These were PacMan&ChompChomp, PacNpal, and ProfessorPacMan. It's possible that one or more were released before Jr., but KLOV doesn't say which. If all three were, then Jr. would be the 8th non-variant non-clone game.... i.e. the 8th original game. These are commonly referred to as "parent" games in Mame, with clones and variants drawing files from it.
AtariLeaf #19 Posted December 10, 2002 If you consider it a sequel, I think Super breakout is better then Breakout.
King Atari #20 Posted December 10, 2002 Ghostbusters II (not so great game, to hard) It's hard but definitely rewarding. One of my favorites.

Keir #23 Posted December 11, 2002 Swordquest: Earthworld was originally supposed to be Adventure II, and it is no where near as good as Adventure!
SS #24 Posted December 11, 2002 Swordquest: Earthworld was originally supposed to be Adventure II, and it is no where near as good as Adventure! Still, one would have to wonder if it may have been more popular if it had been released under that name.
MegaManFan #25 Posted December 11, 2002 Still, one would have to wonder if it may have been more popular if it had been released under that name. Nope. It doesn't have the charm of the original Adventure, and the playability still blows a goat. Incidentally, the "two" I'm most fond of is the 2nd Doctor, he of so few surviving adventures but so MANY good ones that are in tact.
