fixing a 5200?

Recommended Posts

Found a 5200 ebay for 5 bucks. But looks like the 2 port version. Hoever the av cord in the bottom the end looks a little broken. How easy is it to fix. Unlike the 4 prot version the cord is builtin this time. But is is directly soldered to the motherboard or can I unscrew the case and replace the rf cable my self.

Good news: You can just open the case and replace the cord.

SO its not soldered on to the motherboard. If not then where does it go. Is there a hole on the motherboard it plugs into. And what kinda cable to buy to replace it then. The same cable for the 4 port version or a different one.

You can use one from a 2600, for example. Just a standard RF cable. There's a jack on the motherboard you plug it into.

I decided to skip that and got a better deal. Atari 5200, 3 controllers, trackball controller with 2 keypad thingee, 9 games, ac adapter, and some bookelts and inserts for the controllers. All for 65 dollars 29 cents. The other one was 20 and no accessories and the adapter alone was 20 so 40. So 25 more and all that not bad.
