DUCKTALES 2 for the NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM (NES) by CAPCOM

Recommended Posts

SOLD - $45, "shipping included," seller personally covered $1.75 of insurance

My New Year's resolution cleaning sale continues - -

This one is for all the NES owners on AtariAge - CAPCOM's DUCKTALES 2 in excellent condition and for a reasonable, non-eBay price!

No instructions, just the cartridge, but the label, case and PCB contacts are in GREAT condition!

(Sorry for my thumb smudge on the label - - it's actually perfectly glossy, and in excellent condition, so glossy in fact that it shows thumb-prints! They wipe right off, though, don't panic!)

More detailed pictures are below

  • Great-looking, thick PCB!

  • No corrosion, nice clean contacts!

  • Works great in my NES (I replaced my 72-pin socket recently, so all games fire right up for me!)

  • Label is in really nice tight, condition, both front, back and end, with NO lifting or peeling

  • Case is in great condition, with no scuffs or scratches

  • Comes from a dog, cat, orangutan, chicken, etc.-free household, n' no smokin' either!

It's a really desired game, and always seem to list WAY to high (really, eBay?? $100??).

I picked it up a while back because I really enjoyed playing it as a kid, but now I've had my fun with it, and it can be yours!

  •
  • $40 for the cartridge

  • PLUS the cost of USPS Priority Shipping from 80401 and insurance - - So, $5.00, for a USPS "small box" plus approximately $2.00 for insurance.

  • TOTAL with SHIPPING and INSURANCE = $47

  • PAYPAL gift payment only, please!

  • Cartridge will be plastic bagged, put in an anti-static bag, and then surrounded by bubble wrap. Box will be re-enforced with cardboard

  • I take my packing seriously, and I want it all to arrive for YOU the way I would want it to arrive for ME!

  • Feedback should be left for me, and I will do the same for you (big group hug, wahoo!)

  • Please, before you think of making a lower offer, do your Internet research, and respect the VERY kind price I am listing this at!

This isnt ducktales 1 this is ducktales 2 so of course it should triple......this is one of the last carts to find for most nes collectors that want to collect the whole set then they say they only want the liscensed carts cause they cant find or cant afford that last couple big ones like Myriad 6 in 1 or the panesian games!

I paid less then what you are asking on ebay a couple years ago. How/why did it triple in price?

An excellent question:

Google Price Compare

RarityGuide.com NES Listings (search for "Duck Tales 2" in search bar, no quotes needed)

And, a great recent article on NES rarities (scroll down for Duck Tales 2):

http://www.retrojunk.com/details_articles/4881/

Bottom line, eBay and online e-tailers have jacked the price to nearly $100, loose - - that's what that first link to Google Price Listings will show.

What I am asking is a sane, realistic price that collectors will appreciate!

Sounds like you got a great deal a few years ago, by the way! Congrats! :)

I know what this is, and I still can't believe it's getting $100 on eBay. I swear I paid like $30 max with a buy it now from somebody like Pedro! or Lukie Games but I can't remember.

Yep, Pedro Games has it for $69.99 with free shipping right now:

Lukie Games wants $75.97, with free shipping as well.

I'm just amazed this game shot up soo much. Then again I remember Futurama for the PS2 getting $50 easy on ebay for a while and now you can get it for Under $20 easy. The market does some crazy things sometimes.

Agreed, makes me think I should hold onto it a bit longer . . . !

I'm not much in this for money, though, and my New Year's resolution is to clean out the things I don't use.

Overall, I sort of feel the collectibles market is "soft" right now, and there are a lot of deals to be had.

My personal sense of things is that in 3-5 years when the economy recovers and people have more disposable income, the price of collectibles will rise again, and people who held on or bought up will be sitting pretty - - if they are monetarily motivated and want to sell, that is.

Otherwise, it seems to be a buyer's paradise for collectibles in this economy!

But that's just my "1UP" as it were, in video game parlance . . . ;)

it is all supply and demand. i know i seen a boxed duck tales 2 go for not much than 100 in 2010. but i wasnt really trying to bid on it at the time. i wish i did though as it is on my want list.

i still want that futurama game too.

Gamestop has the Futurama The Game for $20. No guarantees on Box of instructions though. Probably worth phoning a local one and asking if they have any in stock.

40's a great price. in shops i've seen it go for 50, and my cousin just got one for over 70 on ebay. he's an idiot though. I got mine like 7 years ago for my g/f's birthday. The first game is her fav of all time, so I figured i get her the second one. It was still hard to find on ebay then, but no one was bidding, and i got it with manual for about 20 shipped. Around then, i also got her Snow Brothers for 36, which for me then was a lot for an nes game. Of course i woulda had it cheaper, a day sooner, had the computer not crashed while bidding. I'm actually surprised this hasn't sold yet.

Seriously dude, it's bad form around here to take a crap in someone's for sale thread. Just because you got lucky "a couple years ago" on Ebay has little to do with the current asking price. The price he's asking seems very fair considering recent prices.

I recently sold my DVD copy of Tron to a guy on Craigslist. I paid $12 a few years ago, and I got $65 for it. It's all about the current market.

I am always happy to discuss and justify my prices, and I took no offense, however I also appreciate the notion of respecting others' for-sale threads!

:D :D

In the end, we all went to bed happy - - I just sold the cart.

I have DuckTales 2 with instructions (both mint) but no box. I've been looking for a while now, but don't want to pay eBay prices for a box. At least I can play the game for now :)
