Restore ColecoVision system to original working condition $49

Recommended Posts

I have gotten several requests over the past months, for restoring the ColecoVision without any mods. This includes the console and 2 controllers.

I am offering this for people that want to leave everything original but have it work like new.

Unlike my refurbish and A/V mod offer, I will not be cleaning controller housings and cords with this offer. Cleaning will be limited to wiping dirt/dust out of the inside of the system case and off the motherboard and wiping the face of the keypad on the controllers.

For $49 + return shipping you get.

Console:

Refurbish power switch

clean cartridge slot with DeoxIT

reflow any bad solder points.

Plus

If needed I will replace (1) TMS4116-15 DRAM (video IC) or (1) 74LS541N (controller IC) at no additional cost. Additional ICs are $20 each.

I will not replace the VDP (TMS 9928)

Controllers:

fire buttons refurbished

joystick contacts refurbished

keypad and keypad connectors cleaned

I recommend including RF cord, power supply and quick connect/switch box to make sure there is not an issue with them. I will test everything you send with your console to make sure it all works when used together. I do however highly recommend getting a RF quick connect from the AtariAge store or off of Ebay if your using a switch box. I am not replacing defective cords, quick connects/switch boxes or power supplies. I am just testing them with your refurbished system and will let you know if there is a problem.

Keep in mind that not every console can be repaired/refurbished. If I can't get your console working properly you will not be charged anything, just pay return shipping. This offer is intended for systems and controllers that have not been tampered with.

I am sure some people will want the console left original but will want straightened cords and ball knobs on the controllers. $12 for replacement ball knobs, $10 for straighted cords or $20 for both knobs and straightened cords.
