Mega STE taking time to boot

Recently bought a Mega STe off ebay. Takes ages to boot up with a disk inserted when powered up first time. White screen for about a minute. Then the disk drive spins up and the desktop appears. But when soft reset, it will read the disk immediately and go straight into the desktop.

If it is TOS 2.05, the delay is the memory test.

 

TOS 2.06 adds a progress bar

Is there a black progress bar during this delay?

 

If so, bash a key and it will go right on with the boot-up process.

Thanks for the help. It's running Tos 2.05 so no progress bar.

Is the floppy good?

I remember inserting a bad floppy, then waiting forever to check if the disk was readable, then going to desktop.
