This is for the VCS2600 but it's the same for the Coleco.

Tips

-For the first 10 levels, always follow the path in the direction of wall you need to break or enemy you have to kill. If you have an enemy on one side and a wall on the other go in the direction of the wall. (not sure if this is clear!)

-You don't have to place the dynamite right against the wall, you can leave it one step back. (go to know when you have a magma wall)

-You can use your Microlaser beam to destroy a wall. You just have to be at lease one step near the wall and shoot at it for a few seconds, around 5-6 I will say. (This is something that I use either when I have a magma wall on one side and a magma structure on the other, this way i avoid running in the structure after leaving the dynamite. Also, in the situations were there is water and the ground area where I can put the dynamite is small)

-Keep in mind that the Prop-Pack does not start working as soon as you make your joystick do up. It takes a good second before the propeller takes it full speed.

-When going down to a new screen, you should always make a full stop when entering to make sure you don't get killed.

For those who aren't aware, if you want to use an Atari CX-40 controller to play the game, plug the ColecoVision controller in Port 1 (use it to start the game) and plug the Atari controller in Port 2. Joystick DOWN for dynamite.

Here's the link to the Retrogaming Times Monthly review (IMO, the ColecoVision version should have been #1!) - http://www.retrogamingtimes.com/rtm41/#manyfaces

Sure a great conversion. It is hard to learn that you have to use the right controller button for dynamite (instead of joystick DOWN as in the Atari 2600 version). Otherwise the CV standard controller works very precise with H.E.R.O.

You can't blame Activison (or The Softworks) for doing a lazy CV port (as seen in Pitfall II icon_skull.gif ).
