HatefulGravey #1 Posted January 19, 2011 I'm giving a lot of thought to getting rid of my MAME machine and instead hooking my PC to my TV in the living room and playing the same deal as the MAME machine through my TV. I think over all this will be a good deal as my apartment isn't as big as I would like it to be and my collection is growing all the time. Not to mention if I get the MAME machine out I can move my DK Jr machine in. The DK Jr machine is alot smaller then the MAME anyway. The thing is I would want to be able to rotate my tv to play vertical screen games well.. vertically. I have done this with monitors tha thave the stands that let it do that and its cool as hell. It would be even cooler if I could do it with my 42' tv. Has anyone seen a way to mount one of these tvs that will let it spin like that. On the wall or with a stand doesn't really matter. Just something I thought would be cool and I know someone here has thought about this before, so maybe someone has an idea as to how to do this. Ghost Soldier #2 Posted January 19, 2011 Some tv stands have lazy susans on them. They allow you to rotate the set. There are also wall mounts that have a arm that can collapse/extend. This allows the tv to rotate on the arm. When you want it back against the wall you just push it back.
Arkhan #3 Posted January 20, 2011 Sounds like a custom job. Take one of those plates that spin out of a microwave and make a ghetto rigged rotatything?

Or he could just google for: TV swivel base and look at what comes up under the shopping section. I have one from Ikea which I was going to suggest, but they don't make it anymore. The main things are to check weight capacity and to make sure you can center the weight of the TV on the thing. A lot of CRT sets have their rear "feet" fairly far in from the back of the set and can have their rear ends hang off the rear end of a stand which isn't quite as deep without issue in such cases. See, I Googled, but I didn't know exactly what to type in the search box and that makes a big difference. Thanks
