+Ransom #1 Posted January 20, 2011 How well (if at all) do European Videopacs work in the Odyssey2?
BassGuitari #2 Posted January 20, 2011 I'd be surprised if they worked at all, since they're PAL. Brazilian games should work, though.
+Ransom #3 Posted January 20, 2011 I figured they wouldn't play, but then I saw some mention on a .nl message board that seemed to indicate that O2 games could be played in G7000 systems. It got me wondering if it was possible, or if I was misunderstanding something. Thanks for the clarification.
Seob #4 Posted January 20, 2011 (edited) most games work perfetcly fine, except frogger, backgammon, most prototypes, and maybe two or three more which don't work or have glitches. At least these games don't work on Odyssey2 consoles: Videopac: 16, 21, 31, 40, 47, 48, 57, 58, Chess (C7010) Parker: Frogger Jopac: Syracuse, Chez Maxime, Exojet, Le Tresor Englouti proto's: Shark Hunter, Interpol, Tutankham and of course the Plus-only games: Videopac 56, 59, 60, Basic (C7420), Motocrash (Jopac), Flashpoint. There are some other games which don't work, but they have an Odyssey2 equivalent: Videopac 15 (Dynasty), Videopac 33 (Acrobats). Some games which have not been released in the U.S. do have a brazilian version, which do work on Odyssey2 consoles: Videopac 16, 21, 47, 58, Frogger. Games with extra hardware inside the cart will never work through The Voice module: Videopac 31, 40, 55, 58, 59, 60, C7010, C7420. Tech specs G7000: - crystal oscillator: 17.734476 MHz - 8048: 5.911492 MHz - VDC: 3.546895 MHz - PAL encoder: 4.433619 MHz The G7000 has one master clock, the other frequencies are obtained by dividers. The G7400 doesn't have a master clock. G7400: - 8048: 5.911 MHz - PAL encoder: 8.867 MHz (internally divided by 2) - VDC: 3.547 MHz (derived from PAL encoder) Odyssey2: - crystal oscillator: 7.15909 MHz - VDC and NTSC encoder: 3.5795 MHz - 8048: 5.369 MHz G7200: 8048: 5.911 MHz VDC: 3.547 MHz (separate oscillator) C52 and N60: - crystal oscillator: 17.812 MHz - 8048: 5.937 MHz - VDC: 3.562 MHz Jopac and french G7400: - 8048: 5.911 MHz - VDC: 3.5625 MHz both the Odyssey2 and the G7000 have one master clock (crystal oscillator). The clock inputs of the 8048 and the VDC are derived from this oscillator. G7000: for the 8048 the clock is divided by 3, for the VDC it's divided by 5. Inside the 8048 the clock is divided by 15 to get the "instruction cycle clock", so the total is 45 (3 * 15). So the VDC draws exactly 9 pixels during one 8048 cycle (45 / 5). Odyssey2: for the 8048 the master clock is divided by 1.333 (4/3), so the total for the "instruction cycle clock" is 20 (4/3 * 15). For the VDC the clock is divided by two, so it draws exactly 10 pixels during one 8048 cycle (20 / 2). Most info from Rene_G7400 who is a master within the odyssey2/videopac scene. +Ransom #5 Posted January 21, 2011 Wow! So it is possible for some of them. Thank you!

Ha....if there is I may have to try and find a copy, even though I don't even have an Odyssey! Though considering the Orangmen's performance yesterday against Villanova, maybe not
