ThumpNugget #1 Posted January 21, 2011 How can your collection be complete without a boxed Atari 410? Make it complete now by getting this one for only $21.00 and that includes shipping in the USA.
+Ransom #2 Posted January 21, 2011 Does it work? Does it have a new(er) belt in it?
ThumpNugget #3 Posted January 21, 2011 Sorry I should have given a more complete description... I have never taken it out of the box (until just now to take a picture). The serial numbers on box boxes and the unit match. The belt has never been replaced by me. The unit is in good physical shape... the button are all solid. I was told it worked when I bought it (ten years ago) but I have never plugged it in. I plugged it in after reading your response and nothing happend... If I remember right that is the expected behavior on a 410 where the SIO cable is not connected to a machine.

Rewind and fast forward should still work without it being connected to a computer.

Belts can be had for cheap... and even if someone else installs them it should only run you about $30. But if it's been in the box and inside (not in a Minnesota garage for 10 years where the temp may vary from -30 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit) the belts should be OK. ThumpNugget #6 Posted January 23, 2011 I tried this out today.. the unit works but for sure is going to need a new belt.
ThumpNugget #7 Posted January 25, 2011 OK, time to sweeten the pot How about I throw in a Softside DVD.. These are from the Softside scans I did.. Changes since then: these PDFs are bookmarked and there is also an additional PDF of just the Atari material that appeared over the years.. I made these DVD sets a year ago or so and have not gotten around to making a batch yet... I think I made three (maybe four) as thank-yous to people that donated books for the 96 book PDFs. The price is now $22.00 shipped to the US (I am trying to be unpredictable).

caver #9 Posted January 28, 2011 (edited) What would I do with a boxed atari 410? What would I do with a softside DVD? I don't know (epically since I have yet to acquire an atari computer, though I do have some apple II's and a C64)........ But I can hear their siren song. Buy me, In box, retro, basic, cool.... I hear it, and I want to respond, but my wallet she laughs in my face. And my stupid frugality gets in my way, why pay so much for something I won't use. Alas, I make this offer, so at least I can say I tried to make everyone happy, even though it means I will probably succeed at none. PM sent, and a bump in hopes that if my home isn't their new one, that they do find one where they can be happy. ThumpNugget #10 Posted January 30, 2011 Thank you for the bump! I think I will just assign this one as eBay fodder...
