snicklin #3 Posted January 23, 2011 Hiya, I've just been testing it and have just lost a life. It's sort of hanging and making funny noises. I'm using Atari800Win+ 4.0 (on a Windows XP PC) with the setting of SIO patch, PAL, XL/XE & 1088kb. The noises come to an end after a few seconds but they last longer than they should. It's getting close! Good work! gridrunner_from_snicklin.zip

+therealbountybob #6 Posted January 24, 2011 anybody else? any highscores? Downloading now to my XE/1050 (PAL)... will report back soon Is it going to be called Gridrunner 2011 now Mydos4.53/myPicoDOS - loads, screen garbage, blank screen voice ok, then crazy sounds - that's it. Game did start a couple of times after reboots, after being hit corrupted sounds for ages then continues next life
a8isa1 #7 Posted January 24, 2011 anybody else? any highscores? Playing on a real NTSC 800XL, 320K. I hear static noise, distorted blaster sounds, ending with a distorted explosion. The game procedes with the next life. Is the game trying to play digitized sounds? The screen remains visible and there is no motion. My high score was 18,920. I didn't see any problems with the high score board. There wasn't any sound. Don't know if there is supposed to be any. The next game started fine. Mclaneinc #9 Posted January 25, 2011 Same on Altirra 1.9 beta 11 (with the nice funky audio monitor) Like the game, needs someone with reactions faster than me tho
Heaven/TQA #10 Posted January 25, 2011 ok. please check. I guess the sample player gets slow because the RMT is playing back a sound FX. Can you please double check if a sound was playing when you get hit? if there is no sound played (like shots, zapper etc) then the 'Ouch' is played back in right speed. +Stephen #11 Posted January 25, 2011 Testing done on NTSC 130XE with 320kB of RAM and 32-in-1 OS. If using APE loader to load the game, set the base address to $400. When losing a life, the sample plays very slowly. It doesn't seem to matter if I get hit by the zapper or by bumping into something on the grid. No sound was playing when I got hit. The "shatter effect" happened at regular speed, then when that finished, the sample plays slowly.
+Philsan #12 Posted February 12, 2011 (edited) How's Gridrunner's test going? Months ago I found those bedclothes in a store and I photographed them. Strange, exactly the same logo of Llamasoft. Edited February 12, 2011 by Philsan
