ARABIAN and ALI BABA converted on the Colecovision would be great...

This thread inspired me to do a mockup of a game I'd love to see on the ColecoVision, namely Solomon's Key.

The other screenshot on the right is from the NES version, for the sake of general comparison. :)

Enjoy!

hey.. in fact, i had already started to work on a Solomon's key adaptation for C.V. :) I love that game.

In fact, i started lot of game for the cv ;)

I really enjoyed this game and would maybe someday try my hand at coding a CV version if there are no takers by then. I'm still coding Side Trak and was thinking of doing Rip Cord next if there are no takers on that one. but Solomon's key was actually on my list of top 5 games to code for cv!

Well, I can't speak for others, but if it was up to me, I'd have you do Rip Cord next. Someone who's actually interested in coding homebrew versions of Coleco's vaporware games should be encouraged as much as possible. :)

I second this! .... Rip Cord would be nice :)

Why not picking Destruction Derby? (as I already encoded the graphics ;) :D )

Isn't Destruction Derby a currently unemulated game? Without a way to play it under emulation, or extensive video footage of the game in action, it will be hard to do an accurate representation of the arcade game...

Great video update on Side Trak! Can't wait to buy this one and glad to hear you have struck up a deal with Retroillucid. :D

As far as other games you might be interested in programming for the Coleco, I would love to see Rip Cord next mainly for two reasons:

 The whole Coleco abandonware issue that has been discussed endlessly. It was almost like a broken promise by Coleco to all of us when these games never were developed and now thanks to Scott Huggins and yourself, we have Spectar and soon Side Trak!!!

 The simple fact that Rip Cord was never released for any other gaming system that I know of... only the arcade version exists. Kinda like the other two games mentioned above.

Whatever you descide, we'll end up winners!!!

That's actually the main reason why I choose to encoded the graphics back awhile! :)

The engine of Destruction Derby is highly the same as Death Race

This's a really simple game, would not be though to make it from scratch, and it'll let space for creation too

I personally would prefer Rip Cord slightly over Destruction Derby, but either or both would be great.

I had a look few time ago at porting rip cord to coleco.

we can not port it directly , because it does not use a Z80 . But i thought about the possibility to create a kind of 6502 "interpretor" other the z80. Ripcord being a very little game , i think it could be possible. That would allow to have an "arcade perfect" port.

The other point, is that we have to propose a enhanced version of the game to match with Colecovision vaporware screenshot. Original RipCord being a black and white game.

I never played Death Race , but i love Rip Cord it is a really fun little game.

I think doing Rip Cord from scratch is the way to go, as for the colors, mostly all early Exidy's games are in B/W

I'm really a hardcore fans of Exidy's games and would love to see more of their games being port to CV!

Chiller would be nice to see on CV, however, the original use gun :/
