What are my options?

The 5200 and controllers and games finally arrived. Everything looks kinda dusty and beat.

 

Anyhow no way to test and see if everything works or not. Cuz looks like I got a 4 port model. It was hard to tell from the photos but it was a good deal so I just baught.

 

Anyhow no switch box was included. So what are my options?

 

Either trade someone for a 2 port model. Or try to find a box. Or anyway to bypass the box, probably not on a for port model. Or anyone made a third party box.

I think I remember seeing a mod a long time ago where you could modify it to work with a normal switch box and power supply, but otherwise on the 4-port, the power is connected to the switchbox, so you need a 5200 4-port one. You might try calling Best Electronics to see if they have any, or look elsewhere. That is really the most expensive part of the system usually, being unique to it. Sometimes cheap isn't always good!

Cool, hope it all works out well for you! It's a great system. If those sticks end up not working (likely), call Best and get the rebuilt regular or rebuilt Gold sticks, and you'll bet all set for life.

Actually just realized the switchbox says not working. But probably does work as some just say that incase after 20 years in storage it doesn't. But amazon was almsot double. And the boxes are hard to find so I'll try it anyway.

 

Andway looks in good shape. So when it comes if it doesn't work how hard are these to fix? Or what would someone charge to fix a switch box?
