Mega Man 9 and 10

Pun intended. Any other fans out there? Classic Mega Man is my favorite platforming series, and I've played all of the game and beaten all but MM5 and MM&B, including MM9 and 10. People call these games hard, and while they are, I just went back and played through MM9 as Proto with very few problems. Sure I died a few times because I haven't played in months, but overall the game is well-balanced and has very few cheap moments if you know what to expect. The weapons are fun, you don't have to conserve energy at all in 9 if you're good. I didn't even play a single level twice (i.e. did not farm for E-tanks at all). I used an E-Tank and M-Tank on Wily. Such a blast to play.

 

Now it's time to take on Mega Man 10 tonight as well. My only problem is deciding which character to use. The choice is easy in 9 (always Proto Man now) because it helps with the challenge, and Mega Man doesn't get any special weapons... But in 10 the choice is typically between Bass and Mega Man. MM gets some really sweet weapons, right from the start, and can play helmetless to add to the challenge. The best thing about Bass is long jumping (I prefer the Mega Buster, although he does tend to destroy mini-bosses). Proto Man has nothing except style going for him in 10, really unfortunate but I might end up playing 2 games, one as him and then one as Mega Man.

 

Other Mega Man fans: what's your favorite game and which games have you beaten recently.

 

People who are not yet Mega Man fans: I suggest you play MM1,2,3,9 and 10!

Yes, they are great. And I hope that Capcom will continue to put these out. If not yearly at least somewhat regularly. I enjoyed playing through these, and they really captured the spirit of classic Mega Man titles. MM9 did it slightly better than 10, though, but both games were excellent, and quite challenging.

Still trying to find time to take on Willy in MM9, but yes, yes I love these games! Thank you Capcom for realizing that simple 2-D platforming is not dead!

Sweet thanks for the post I didnt realize there was a mega man ten out there unless your refering to x. I have been playing mega man x for snes great game. It looks as if you could just use your mega blaster to beat the bosses. So far its worked. Any way I really love the mega man x series. Also just putting this out there you can get the mega man collection and mega man x series on the ps2 although I have yet to get both.

Megaman 9 is an amazing game, what gaming should be about, I had a de-bug Mega man 9 disc version for the PS3, sent it back to Capcom and got some free games and merchandise

No. It's time for them to announce a SNES-styled Megaman X9.
