tz101 #1 Posted February 1, 2011 I tried this game tonight for the first time. No instructions, so I don't get the point. I went around digging holes and watching the little creatures fall in. Then they would get themselves out. Repeat ad infinitum. What did I miss? I could get nowhere as far a progress toward any type of recognizable goal, so shut it off. Any tips? A classic, with a great port to the Apple.. Apple Panic! (how creative they were to avoid the licence!) Once in a pit you have to bash them with your shovel and make them fall thru. On later levels they have to fall 2 floors, etc so you have to plan ahead by digging a hole underneath the original hole you sink them into.
newcoleco #3 Posted February 1, 2011 (edited) Space Panic for the ColecoVision is one of the rare games that include a demo. Its demo shows how much the different creatures must fall to defeat them. The goal of the game is to, spoiler alert, defeat all the creatures on screen within a time limit. You dig holes to trap the creatures, and you make them fall like in the demo by filling up the hole in which they're traped. There is a twist, if you let the creatures escape (too often), they change. Edited February 1, 2011 by newcoleco

Left fire button digs the hole, right fire button fills the hole in. Red must fall one floor to be eliminate. Green must fall two floors to be eliminated Blue must fall three floors to be eliminated. The exception is that if a monster falls on top of another monster, both are eliminated even if they don't fall the number floors listed above.
tz101 #6 Posted February 2, 2011 OK, so this sounds like a fun play once I know what I'm doing. But do I bash the critters in the head, or fill in the hole on top of them?
