retroillucid #1 Posted February 9, 2011 (edited) Here it is, a Donkey Kong Jr Reprint box, I'm guessing they were out of Billingual Box, so they use those That's the first time I saw one like this one, I know that Coleconut own a Venture Generic box but his box only contains text with the Venture logo ... Anyway, I though I should share this find EDIT: Something interesting is that the Price Tag is at 39.99$ and it also contains a date wich is 25/02/83 Edited February 9, 2011 by retroillucid

wberdan! #11 Posted March 19, 2011 awesome boxes! never seen those before.. i wonder why they packaged those that way.. perhaps the original boxes had been damaged, or they had more carts than boxes that month.. pretty cool!
Murph74 #12 Posted March 19, 2011 I see this box, and it looks to me like it was printed 2-color with altered artwork, not just missing colors. Is there a full color DKJ French box? Google comes up with nothing.

Your're right, it was printed 2-color with altered artwork The box has been also made using the same cardboard as the original release Is there a full color DKJ French box? youki #14 Posted March 19, 2011 Is there a full color DKJ French box? Google comes up with nothing. This is the french version. The one Retroillucid shows if the canadian one i think.
Rik #15 Posted March 20, 2011 Perhaps those boxes were printed without color to cut costs?, we all know how absurdly high color ink costs.
Murph74 #16 Posted March 23, 2011 I've been wrong before, and may be again here, but it appears to be intentional in the later years of the Colecovision to have these 2 color boxes. My *guess* would be that there are more of these out there from other games, although i only recall seeing this and Dam Busters off the top of my head. Maybe either overstock that was packaged as cheaply as possible to dump, or perhaps to honor a distribution commitment of some sort for Canada.

Murph74 #18 Posted April 28, 2011 Another 'different' box has shown up on Ebay... It's Black Jack Poker, much like the Venture box above. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 290558779375
