anyone have a boxed 800 computer?

i am looking for a 800 (not xl) computer and/or accessorries in boxed...perhaps sealed condition and will pay for the right set up.

 

This was my second computer growing up after my ti-99/4 (no a)...traded it for an apple II plus...

What kind of box for the 800? - there are at least two. Does the s/n have to match the box? Does the 800 have to work? Accessories? 850? 810? 825?

I have a 48k Atari 800 with basic and star raiders carts, rebuidlable power supply 800 power supply, another backup power supply, rf box, and manual. Now the machine itself is in great condition really was shocked how good it looked when I checked it the other day. The 800 rebuidable power supply was just bought and the other unit was the one it came with which was sealed but taken apart to to check fuse, the carts are loose but work, the rf box looks like it's from the 1980s and the computer box on the other hand is fair at best worse than fair if you consider the picture above fair . The stryofoam is OK but the box has seen better days. It too was my first computer hence I kept it over all the other computers I have owned and has some value to me.

yes, hard to open the boxes of the 800 and 1050 with doing some kind of damage to box, however my 400 box is perfectly opened and gem mint!

All the pre-Tramiel boxes are crap. They're cereal boxes over the styrofoam, and accordingly fragile.

Not true. Mine from 1982 is plain, brown, sturdy, corrugated cardboard with dense foam endpieces that suspend the 800 inside. I think it had an inner box for accessories but that is long gone.

I agree. They could of made these boxes better. It's a thin sheet of paper!

 

My Atari 400 box is made much better....
