rhindlethereddragon #1 Posted February 14, 2011 I know a lot of people don't like this game, but if you're playing with a good, smooth Intellivision controller, this is actually a pretty cool game. I was able to develop a "system" playing it tonight were it became a test of endurance, and I scored over 150,000 points. Of course, I was playing on skill level 1. Anybody else here love this game? I do!!

I do!! I must admit I hadn't played this game for a long time but I was cleaning and testing a few copies last week and I really did enjoy it. It seems to be another game that isn't as bad as it's reputation suggests it is. Now if I could just find a mint CIB copy....
+doctorclu #3 Posted February 14, 2011 Actually had the Turbo controller for the ColecoVision once. Never played on InTV, but you know I will give it a shot as soon as I find a copy, either by cart or rom loader.

BassGuitari #5 Posted February 15, 2011 I like Turbo! I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say I "love" it, but I do enjoy it quite a bit, and I do think it's an underrated Intellivision game. It's nowhere near as bad as it's made out to be.
ChuckH #6 Posted February 27, 2011 I'm using the Bliss emulator to play Intellivision games and it works well with the games I've tried except Turbo. I can't seem to control the car except with an odd combination of up and left and right arrows and even then it's very clunkly. Do you need a special controller to play this game on real hardware or something? I've tried MESS and it's the same thing. I play arcade Turbo on MAME just fine. Does anyone play Intellivision Turbo through an emulator and can get it to work correctly? Thanks

You use the disc like you would a "steering wheel", placing your thumb on the top, and then "sliding" the disc left or right in order to turn. Remember... the real intellivision controller has a 16 direction disc.
Skylark68 #8 Posted March 14, 2011 I think it's a pretty decent game. I just wish I had the box and the instructions to go along with it... haha
+cmart604 #9 Posted March 15, 2011 I think it's a pretty decent game. I just wish I had the box and the instructions to go along with it... haha Yah, this is a tough one to find boxed, especially with a nice box. Took me years....although I did get all three box variations in the last six months.
ed1475 #10 Posted March 18, 2011 I've got it complete, but the box is in bad shape. The game is okay. It's really cool that you can rotate the disk like a steering wheel.
OldAtarian #11 Posted March 23, 2011 How does it play compared to Pole Position?
cparsley #12 Posted March 28, 2011 Never really cared for INTV Pole Position, clock counted down way too fast when not actually at top speed. The game basically did a sweep for commands, drawing, etc and then took the timer counter down by 1. During start up of vehicle or crash there was a lot less for the INTV to do so the clock would run a lot quicker. Never really went for a game that seems to be cheating you

+save2600 #14 Posted January 3, 2012 I've always wanted to play this (doesn't seem like too bad a game, judging by the vids I've seen of it), but have never felt like popping for the $25+ it usually commands.
Rev #16 Posted January 4, 2012 New score! Was this game ever in the Intv HSC?
Kefka15 #17 Posted January 4, 2012 (edited) I actually picked up a copy not too long ago and really enjoyed. I have Turbo for Colecovision as well and I must say that I like the Intellivision version much better. Edited January 4, 2012 by Kefka15
IntellivisionDude #18 Posted January 4, 2012 I'd love to say i like the Intellivision version better but i have the steering wheel for the Colecovision so it's the winner for me.
