emkay #26 Posted February 16, 2011 What I was saying if hte UWOL guy didn't inspire in this CHIMERA sounds? To me it sounds fully different. The relation is only to find in the sound-"colour" of the AY chip.
Tezz #27 Posted February 16, 2011 How is that "Rob's Player" working exactly. It sounds very "time correct" not like a VBI based player. It is actually VBI based running off an IRQ on the 64.
Heaven/TQA #28 Posted February 16, 2011 Tezz... and on A8? did you converted the note tables to avoid Pokey's detuning?
Tezz #29 Posted February 16, 2011 (edited) Nice work Tezz. Sounds like you got the c64 sample playback routine working too? Thanks for your help and support, I'm putting some details together about it. I was just about to say the same thing Sorry I didn't have time to help more but I went straight from one project to another and got kind of sidetracked It's all sounding great. Pete Thanks, that's ok, it was just if you had time in between all the projects. It's been a good excuse as much as anything to get more into the 64 to bring stuff over to the Atari. Tezz #30 Posted February 16, 2011 José What you listen in the videos is some "emulated" SID playback. It's not usable for games .... this way. Also it uses 3 channels, UWOL needs 4 of them .... Actually, it's not emulated SID but rather reinterpreted for a standard Pokey equivillent playback of the music. It is totally usable for games, it's just a vbi based Pokey player routine with the same overhead as RMT.
Tezz #31 Posted February 16, 2011 Tezz... and on A8? did you converted the note tables to avoid Pokey's detuning?well, I'm making use of the tables in my procedures that Sweity put together, the sid calls are patched on the fly and then reinterpreted. In the second track, I've transposed a pattern (and a couple of notes to do) that were out of range to avoid the detuning.
