Two days left on the pre-order, still a few spots open.

Steve

I mentioned before I was interested in this. Was that counted into the pre-order? If not, checking to see what is available.

And if not that, I still have the Atarimax 128 in 1 cart, which is a fine work of art in it's own case. :)

Me too, I'm giddy to get it and then put most of my carts up for sale!!!

Not me I'm keeping my original carts many since bought brand new. Most 5200 carts are a niche customer and would not be much sell value anyways. Do you really want to risk all the games tied to just one proprietary 5200 Cart that might not be available years from now should it fail?

He makes really great carts, I have several for my A8's. If anyone bought one of these and decided they don't need it, please let me know. I'd like to get one for a price closer to the Ultimate SD cart for the Atari 8-Bit Computers.

Agree, the 5200 SD Cart is very solid and built to last. However, any device can fail, would be foolish to sell off all the 5200 original carts. The original carts and maybe even a replacement SD Cart might be even harder to obtain years from now.

Thanks, you DO bring up an excellent point.

.....And since I spent a lot of $$$ getting all the carts I DO own, since getting my original non-a/v-modded unit for my 17th Birthday in 1983, (USA-made 4-port serial no. 141101), I might as well get some of the homebrews from Good Deal Games' Homebrew Heaven as well as cartridges from AtariMax and AtariAge of course, I heard from my local computer store that SD cards have been known to fail and while they might be known as "smart cards" they're actually not, that way I still own a ton of CDs and DVDs, because smartcards, Spotify and Netflix ARE NOT (in spite of public belief) the be-all-end-all they are cracked up to be, I'm keeping my carts and saving my $$$ to hopefully land that coveted 5200 cartridge of Bounty Bob Strikes Back!!!

Good move to keep the original game carts, a collection hard to replace. The Atarimax SD Cart works very well and now the main cart whenever I play a game on the 5200. All the original carts are available should the SD Cart ever fail, though I think it will outlive me. I suspect the removable SD Card itself would give out first; a good reason to keep a backup of the files. As in any console, I do not leave the cart in when not in use. Not leaving a cart permanent plugged in allows the cart slot prongs to spring back to normal and not have a ruined "stretch".

Agree on Netflix and other streaming services. A great way to watch movies streamed off a convenient menu, but has no permanence for a collector. In addition, one misses out on all the extra special features that are exclusive to the disc versions on DVD and BluRay.
