Neo Geo AES/CD

Just wondering, what model of board is that?

Ugh, this wait is kiiiiiiiiiiiilling me! I ordered an RGB encoder and a Jamma harness from Jammaboards and like most things from the US, it's gonna take over 2 weeks for them to get to me. Man, sometimes living in Canada sure does suck. Here I was thinking a Neo would be a good time killer, but now I need a time killer for the time killer... :x

The one I bid on, and have since been out bid, was a MV-1FZ. Would make a GREAT 1 slot consol. I haven't seen any on there in the states yet, but I've been looking for less then a week so I'm sure I will get one soon. I have decided on a MV-1FZ or a MV-2F for a console. If I can't get one or I find a great deal on another board I'll get/make a supergun. It would have to be a GREAT deal to make a MV-1B. That thing is small enough to make it hard to use outside the normal cab.

Move to Georgia, I could use a friend thats into the hobby, there is space down here, but not too much space, and shipping is fast. (Well, fast when the people you buy from ship things...)

Head over to neo-geo.com and post in the forums there. I'm sure someone has the MVS model board your looking for.

I'll do that at some point I'm sure, but for now I'm trying to make sure I've got enough water to put out the flame. As I understand it they are not the friendly type.

Bah! Digital tough guys. Every body can mouth off from behind a keyboard. :)

The neo-geo.com forums has some great helpful people. And from my experience the marketplace forums there run pretty smooth.

They can be quite unfriendly, but yes, there are some knowledgeable people there.

I believe you need to make ten or twenty posts though before even having access to the buying/selling sub-forum.

They can be quite unfriendly [...]

'Can' be quite unfriendly is such an understatement that I start to wonder if we're talking about the same place.

It's basically 4chan over there.

Yeah, you're right. I didn't have a huge problem, but then again, I used most of my posts in the shmup and portables sections.

I can read the for sale stuff now and I'm not signed up yet. I guess maybe it will stop me from going once I'm logged in, but that seems silly. I could log out, check the forum, log in and send a PM. Silly.

I'm going to do this supergun thing at some point, I hope some point soon, but I'm going to get on that AES first. It cost more, but its also a crap ton cooler. I'm also most there, just a little more saving and my collection gets a major upgrade and a new center piece.

Just FYI, they're still making games for the system, just not from SNK. Like Songbird for Jaguar, NGDEV produces quality stuff on par with SNK (on certain aspects they exceeded SNK)

NCI -

Bang Bang Busters - (both AES/MVS)

Treasures of the Caribbeans - (both AES/MVS)

NG DEV Team -

Last Hope - (MVS/AES/Dreamcast/NGCD)

Fast Striker - (MVS/Dreamcast)

Gunlord - (MVS/Dreamcast [coming soon])

There's a plan to bring all 3 titles mentioned above to AES, starting with Gunlord, which will use completely new cartridge shells, boards, and game cases

There're also some individuals creating consolized arcade units, on top of my head, we have

It seems like there's always market for the system and it just keeps going.

I had to sell off my Neo CD back in March to help pay bills (out of work) and then found a job the very next month. I was pissed! lol But, I kept one of the control pads for whenever I decide to start plunking money down on a consolized MVS. I love the control pads. The sticks? Not so much.

See, this kind of info is why AtariAge and its members kick ass! I had no idea anyone was even working on anything like that (although the enclosure idea has been kicked around for years).

Aside from the CMVS I have from Ben Heckendorn, both of those look sweet!

I really like the kit from Arcade Works, I'd like to see the assembly instructions just to see what's involved.
