Lorfarius #1 Posted February 23, 2011 I've been a Nintendo collector for quite awhile and for some time last year I was pretty frustrated with the general lack of any real UK presence for the NES online. I'm not web designer by any means but I started pottering around with Wordpress, creating some content for what I hope will become a decent NES resource. The result is NES-Bit: Link I decided I would have a good chunk of content for the launch and set myself a goal of 50 NES reviews plus several articles, which I'm happy to say I achieved. So far I have had a few donations but as always I'm always on the look out for more. Another goal is to have a comprehensive database of UK releases and from what I've seen the current site database I have is by far the most expansive for the PAL A region. It's very much a work in progress and in the past couple of months has received many changes to the reviews and magazine sections. I welcome any comments and hope a few of you take some time to have a wander around the site perhaps give me a little feedback or suggestions.
lkermel #2 Posted February 23, 2011 I do always welcome sites about our favorite console - I haven't had time to read all your reviews yet, but I've bookmarked it ! I'll also add your site to my link page over the week

The_Laird #4 Posted February 23, 2011 I have seen you pimping this site on Retro Gamer and its pretty good if the NES is your thing! Always good to see more sites from a UK perspective even if the NES did pretty poorly on these shores.
Lorfarius #5 Posted February 28, 2011 Happy to say I have posted my first ever interview. Had a chat with Ste Pickford of Rare and Zippo Games fame, who spent sometime talking about his time in the games industry (with a hefty bit of NES related history of course!) and his upcoming game: http://www.nes-bit.com/?p=4328 Really proud of this so feel free to let me know your thoughts! carmel_andrews #10 Posted March 3, 2011 So...Nessie does exist then....i see she (or he) had reloc'd from a certain 'loch' north of the border Anyway lofarius, keep up the good work...may the 'nes force' be with you One idea you could do, is a user comparison between the nes and the sms or the nes and the prosystem (7800), from people that owned both sets of games systems

Picking the best 5 games from the NES and SMS and comparing the consoles as well. Already come up with good lists for both so just need to start writing it all out! I'm currently set to provide new content each week so I tend to write a couple of reviews or articles in preparation so hopefully when I get enough time soon I'll be able to do the 8Bit war article
carmel_andrews #12 Posted March 4, 2011 (edited) Might as well do it for similar games, like if it's a beat em up, something like double dragon or if it's a shootem up something like dessert falcon or gradius (since the 7800 lacked sideways scrolling shootem ups) and since you mention sms, alex kid vs mario (since alex kid begat sonic and was the first smb type game on the sms) Edited March 4, 2011 by carmel_andrews
Lorfarius #13 Posted March 4, 2011 I'm going to try for similar or even the same game ported to both if I can. Double Dragon for example appeared on both so will make for a good comparison.

Lorfarius #21 Posted May 3, 2011 Well its been awhile since I posted an update but have plenty more content to show off First up is a review of Street Gangs or River City Ransom in the US, quite a little gem to find: My link Next is me working my way through Nintendo's clash with the education market. Is it a game or just a bad idea? My link I've also posted a few updates to the magazine section, nearing a full set of Club Nintendo now and I have the most complete set available! Lorfarius #23 Posted May 3, 2011 What I was going to say actually...keep up the good work. Cheers Had a few positive things said about the magazine section layout so I think I'm going to rejig the main database section soon. Less text, more images where I can!
