Nukey Shay #4 Posted March 1, 2011 Illustrating (yet again) unfamiliarity with newsgroups. Are posting links to arcade game binaries even allowed anywhere on AA? Hint: when searching Google for it, you'll see at least a couple of arcade forums near the top of the heap that you can sign up to (for free...all you need is a valid email addy to verify your registration - even a throwaway Hotmail one will do). Any featured downloads then become available to you at the site you registered at.
Cebus Capucinis #5 Posted March 1, 2011 Oh! Right! GRIFFEY the dog, that's what it was. How's Griffey, Pacfan?

I really don't want to put any personal info.
Nukey Shay #7 Posted March 1, 2011 Yes, people put links for roms on AA. I don't think they do... http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/54171-forum-guidelines-and-rules/ Pirated Software/Music/Movies/etc. Do not post information on where to obtain pirated software, music, movies, or other copyrighted media. Please also do not post such material directly to the forums. We will tolerate posting information regarding binary images for classic gaming consoles and computers, where the company controlling the copyrights is either no longer in business, unknown, or is not actively protecting the copyrights. A Namco arcade doesn't seem to fit the criteria of being a classic console or computer.

And, I thougt somewhere I read that GCC is no longer in charge of Crazy Otto (Crazy Otto is a lost game, I don't think anybody owns the rights to it), and what I was looking for was a homebrew. Because of these, I thought it was ok, plus I just joined.
Nukey Shay #9 Posted March 1, 2011 Namco owns the rights to the original Crazy Otto. They aquired the rights to the hacked routines and data as part of the settlement with GCC...so GCC didn't have their asses sued. Since this version was made by hacking the original Pac-Man roms, tho, Crazy Otto's legal status does not apply anyway. It was still done without Namco's permission to the game roms that they always legally controlled.
