Kjmann #26 Posted March 4, 2011 Do these work on the 1200XL? Perfectly. All My 1200XL's that I have been selling have them already installed. =) Cool - I'll probably pick one up once I get my 1200XL from Bob. I see you don't have instructions specifically for the 1200XL in your downloadable package on your site (unless I'm missing it). Are they the same as the 800XL? The Instructions for the 1200XL are ready I just haven't put them in the Zip File yet. I was wondering why you haven't replied to my emails. When you have time could you send me a quick response? Sorry for the delay to everyone that had an order to ship this last week. I got delayed due to a Transportation issue for me. I was driving to the Store last Sunday and my "Good old reliable Chevy Suburban" Threw a Rod in the Engine on the Highway leaving me stranded and also without transportation for a few days. I live 40 Miles from My shop and the nearest Post Office. I just got my new car yesterday and all past due orders will be shipped TODAY. Sorry again for the delay everyone. It won't happen again (At least I hope not. I can't keep buying cars all the time). =)

576XE #33 Posted June 16, 2012 I'd like to know what's the polarity of the capasitor for 130XE?
Fox-1 / mnx #34 Posted June 16, 2012 I'd like to know what's the polarity of the capasitor for 130XE? It's on the capacitor. The "-" in the black bar means "negative".
nama #35 Posted June 16, 2012 I hate reading this thread. I ordered one of these about 7 months ago. Never received it. Lots of excuses, then stopped getting replies to my emails. Waste of time and money. Poor me!
576XE #36 Posted June 16, 2012 And which of them PLUS or MINUS goes to chroma output in S-Video?
flashjazzcat #37 Posted June 16, 2012 And which of them PLUS or MINUS goes to chroma output in S-Video? Hence your question "what's the polarity"... Minus should go to the "output" end, i.e. the s-video jack. That's the way it is on my board.
+Roydea6 #38 Posted June 16, 2012 And which of them PLUS or MINUS goes to chroma output in S-Video? Have a look at POST #14 of this thread.. Nice picture that shows the picture of board...
BillC #39 Posted June 16, 2012 And which of them PLUS or MINUS goes to chroma output in S-Video? Have a look at POST #14 of this thread.. Nice picture that shows the picture of board... It's sure been simplified from the older version shown in post #2.
576XE #40 Posted June 17, 2012 Thank you all. I asked too incorrect question and surely got incorrect answer. My fault! But FJS most likely knows Russian, so he gave me clear answer. The reason of my question is that one of my two broaken 130XE lacks color at all. I looked inside and sow that some of printed sircuits was cut and others was added by wires. As it looked like spiderman creation I couldn't understand anything. (Here in Russia this method of soldering is called as "Kolkhoz soldering" (Soviet Collective Farms).) Thus I needed simple and effective decision absolutely the same as KJ-Mann's upgrade. I have tried but unsuccessfully. No colors at all... So I thought that I need to resolder capasitor in reverse polarity. Bye
RodCastler #41 Posted July 14, 2012 Hi, I was about to go for Flashjazzcat's mod when I found this thread. Looks interesting, however, it seems like KJMann has been wiped out from the web: no website, all of the links to him or his products seem to be broken. I also found some not-so good customer stories. 1) Does anyone know of detailed instructions on how to build these boards and how to hook them up to an XE? 2) Should I just go for FJC's simpler mod instead? His PDF tutorial is pretty clear. thank you, Rod
thomas3120 #42 Posted May 4, 2017 (edited) Sorry to bring this thread back to life. Recently bought the Atari 5200 mod Kit on ebay and installed it into my 800XL. Has S-video and Comp. vid out signals. Works good but getting the vertical lines. I read a while back that this is caused by a too strong of a chroma (or luma...can't recall) signal. Any suggestions, hints or links where I can find how/where to remedy this on my 800XL board? Thanks, Thomas Edited May 4, 2017 by thomas3120
peteym5 #43 Posted May 8, 2017 Last time I checked, KJMann was having health issues and no longer working on these things. Was he doing these for Video62? I have seen a few others doing similar S-Video upgrades.
