which are the games I can play for Colecovision ?

Recommended Posts

dear Colecovision fans

I am 43 and, despite my age, still have not a definitive list of the games I can really play for ColecoVision. Looking at tha ATARI 2600 section of ATARIAGE I am jalous about their organization... .

1 - I would like to know which are the games ever officially released for Colecovision in the 80's.

2 - Then those released after the crash by homebrewers 1985 - 2010.

But, I repeat myself, only interested to the playable games ( no demos, not graphics shots ).

I see on the web a lot of roms ( version 1, version 3, version 100 etc. ) of the same title and also my friends ( that like to play with emulators, ( not me ) have a lot of confusion.

- -

Then, because I only like playing games on the real thing, I ask you if anyone interested to sell me a multicart or to burn roms of playable games on eproms so that I can build my collection of missing games for this console. I have no time for that and, no idea how to start to do it by myself. Very far the days I was able programming basic games for the C64.

Are you the one who e-mailed me a bunch of times to assemble some PCBs?

I'd suggest to buy a flash cart, load it up, and see what you like. If you have time to play, you can find some time to figure out what's good. No?

Here ya go you sound like a guy that would want this.

http://www.atarimax.com/colecosd/documentation/

Buy this thing and load the rom files of games you want on the SD card and you can play them on the real hardware.

However you will not find Homebrew roms on the internet except for the ones included with the purchase above. You will need to actually buy those from the homebrewers or for the ones that are sold out you would have to try ebay or this site to buy them. Daniel a homebrewer has a website for his games and he lets you download the roms but no one else does yet.

This is your best hope at what you are describing that you want.

Also if you want complete lists of games just do searches on google there are websites that talk about all the released games and prototypes and some homebrew stuff as well.

thanks you all

and where a list of the games officially released in the 80's ?

Here is a plain jane text list of everything that I know of. I had hoped to lay this out in html format or something nicer looking, but haven't had a chance yet!

Without a doubt, pickup an AtariMax Ultimate SD Cart!

This might be a NOOB question, but what does DP and YURK mean on this list?

DP refers to Digital Press and YURK refers to Yurkie, a member here on AA. Yurkie did up a domestic releases list with his thoughts/experience rarity-wise, which I use as my checklist.

NIAD has just listed both opinions on rarity. Very cool doc by the way!

Thank you for the explanation. That makes complete sense. It will help me tremendously as I start to increase my Coleco collection.

Digital Press is less than 10 minutes from my house, so iv'e always just used them as my resource for collecting questions.

and, again

of the HOMEBREW ROM IMAGE RELEASES 1996 - 2010 Section List, which are the PLAYABLE ones ? or, better, which are those worth the downloading ?

and why, on the web, according to the websites I visit, I find same game/rom with different versions like 1.3 or 3.1 etc. ? or, better, for each of the mentioned rom, someone can indicate how to recognize the LAST version of the game ? ( even if the, may be, final version not a real finished game ).

I know

I am stressing

but just found a guy who can download roms and sell me the finished cartridges so would like to pass him the REAL wish list.

many thanks for reply.

Max
