Dreamcast "MAME4all" question

Recommended Posts

Dreamcast MAME4ALL loads up "Space Fever" no problem, but when it asks for "Game A B or C", no button seems to be A, B, OR C to start it. Help?

Can somebody PLEASE help me to get Nintendo's "Space Fever" to start?? Is it impossible?

Seems that if no button starts it, then no button will start it. Is there not a config file or readme you can dig up to explain what controls are available to you?

Yeah those buttons are always mapped weird.. I think on the PC A, B, & C in the game is mapped to "W" or "F" or something odd like that. You're gonna need to figure out a custom way to map buttons on that if you want any chance to start it.

I can't really help you with that though.. I think it's nearing over half a decade or something since I last touched Mame on the Dreamcast. Get an Xbox and use that :P

After reading this thread a few weeks back I downloaded a MAME pack for DC and fired it up. I couldn't figure out how to back out of each game (meaning a hard reset was needed), there was no way to correct the screen sizes, the games didn't run great for the most part, and the interface wasn't particularly user friendly. MAME on the XBOX is certainly the way to go these days with an interface that makes more sense, customizable (via the GUI) screen settings, and a lot more power in general. I love DC homebrew, but I find a lot of the emulators available have these interface issues. The same things on the XBOX are a lot more streamlined, which is a good thing.
