ComputerSpaceFan #26 Posted March 13, 2011 I can confirm Crystal Castles does control excellently on this cartridge, major thumbs up from me on that one!
Asaki #27 Posted March 21, 2011 So if I want to play Circus Atari or Night Driver I have to put my DS down on a desk, use the stylus in my left hand (not good for a right-handed person) and hit A. I do this weird contortionist act where I rest the DS on my palm so I can wrap my middle finger around to hit the A button. Kind of scared me at first, I was afraid my L button had suddenly stopped working =( And yeah, Red Baron is broken. It says the L button fires on the control screen, but it doesn't work. +wood_jl #28 Posted March 21, 2011 And yeah, Red Baron is broken. It says the L button fires on the control screen, but it doesn't work. The really sucks. That is an excellent, unique game, and I don't think I could fire the A button holding the stylus, either. I wonder if they're going to fire/reprimand their testers? They must be pretty clueless: Where did they find these non-gamer beta testers? They should have found them someplace like here. The entity billed as "Atari" certainly seems oblivious to a community such as this, which while probably numerically insignificant (relative to the rest of their customers) could at the very least give them some FREE insight/information/reactions. You guys who are complaining about the fire button on Red Baron not working should have been the beta testers, rather than the customers who got screwed. Asaki #29 Posted March 22, 2011 Where did they find these non-gamer beta testers? Actually, it's very helpful to get non-gamers as testers because they'll often try doing things that gamers don't think of. ...I meant for this post to sound a lot more intelligent, but I just woke up and have some sinus pains... ¬_¬ Sorry. ComputerSpaceFan #30 Posted April 25, 2011 Well the good news is, the collection is now available on iOS. And it's free! (only with Pong, download more games as in-app purchases) I may give it one more try and keep my fingers crossed that Red Baron is playable with touch controls. Heck, at least iOS allows updates and hotfixes.
Atariboy #31 Posted April 25, 2011 (edited) Why the desire to use touch screen controls in Red Baron? The original cabinet used a joystick for control. The d-pad would seem to be the most desirable way to control it. Granted that it isn't analog control, but digital control still seems to work well in Red Baron. I'm thinking you're talking about casual gamers as gamers... hardcore gamers would try to abuse the hell out of the game in ways that neither of the above would consider. They'd proooooooobably be able to figure out "hey, this button doesn't work".
Asaki #33 Posted April 26, 2011 I'm thinking you're talking about casual gamers as gamers... Nah, I'm paraphrasing something one of my friends said back when he worked QA at a pro game dev studio.
